Feeding:How late can I give my baby cerelac ?

Name: Minx Hi ,

my son is almost 10 months old. He normally takes ragi porridge around 5 PM and doesn't take any solids after that. Around 9 PM , I wake him and give him a bottle of 150 ml milk . Next morning , around 6 AM he has another 150 ml milk and then at 8 AM , mashed banana with some milk.

I want to add some solids to his evening food. Since he goes to sleep by 7.30 PM , I want to give him cerelac at 7 PM or at 9 PM if he's too sleepy at 7 PM. I want to know if cerelac is too heavy to feed a baby at 9 PM ? Will it be difficult to digest ?

You must know at what time it would be good for your baby then only you can give to baby on time.

What would you give in between 9 AM and 5 PM.It is not written and during that time you can give cerelac.So plan according to that schedule of the baby.

So it must be given in the evening hours only so that baby would play nicely and after that you can feed the baby with what ever you like.

You have specified the food which you would give to your baby in morning and evening session but not in afternoon.Can you even tell what type of food would you prefer in afternoon's.

Do not give daily ragi try to change his menu now and then make him to eat all kinds of food now and then.So that he can eat all types of food also.I hope you would like this.

It depends up on your kid and you need to give how does your baby will in take the food then only it would be better for the baby health also and can you share what you had done for your baby also.

So you have to check one thing that you have to know all timings of your baby and then according to that you decide to fix the time that at which time your baby can be feeded by cerelac.It would be better for you.

So you are in dilemma that you want to feed the baby with cerelac then what you have decide to do did you feed them with the cerelac or not can you say what had happened also.It would be better if you share it also.

What kind of milk to give?

My baby is 22 days old. He doesn't want to take breast milk at all. Hence he was given Lactogen from day 1. However I heard that Milk Powders doesn't have much of nutrition. Is it advisable to give buffalo's milk? If yes, please what quantity of water should be added to the milk so that my baby can digest it easily.

quantity and feeding gap

Hello

Could you pls tell me how much quantity (cerelac, rice, fruits etc) you r giving it to your baby and the time gap between feedings. I have 10 months baby boy and for the past few days he is feeling indigestion and his tummy is little bit big.... but he is passing stools little and the stools is harder.

Please advice.

I have nine months old son. I am giving wheat & rice cereal everyday in between 8:30 - 9:00 . He is fine. So you can give a try.(either you can feed him through bottle or spoon).
How do you prepare ragi porridge ? could you give me a recipe.

Hi Dony,

For lunch , I give rice, dal and veggies - cooked and mashed in mixie and curd with some salt and sugar

He likes it - sometimes add a lil rasam water for taste and he likes it.

Ragi porridge

Hi

I soak about two spoons ragi overnight and grind it in mixie and strain it. Then add lil milk and sugar and cook - you have to cook on medium flame stirring continuously - otherwise it will form lumps. Cook till it's a lil thick and shiny , some bubbles come - cool and feed suing spoon or small glass.

i have ten months old daugter ....an di give her last solid food at around 8 pm....its no harm in giving till 8 or 8:30pm....and yaa i agree u should give him solid food after 5 pm .....u can try any of the cerals or even khichidi...wat u gave him in lunch....
