Hi, I' m in my 11th week nd its my first issue. I had some complications in my 6th week....due to which my gyni had done 6-7 ultrasounds till date. I' m jus worried that too many scans hope are not affecting my baby' s health nd growth, as in normal scenario, scans are done mostly in the 2nd trimester. Please if any of you can guide me in this regard, I' ll be thankful.

Diagnostic ultrasound utilizes low-powered sound waves that do not harm the developing fetus.Physicians use this technology to reveal more details about fetal health.

Hey Shalu,

Sorry to hear you' re having complications. It' s OK to have the Ultrasounds in the 1st trimester. The reason Dr.' s do it in the 2nd trimesters is because you can then SEE your baby clearly. In the first trimester it' s just a waste of money to do an ULTRASOUND because you can' t really see anything. But if you had complications then it was necessary for them to MONITOR you. Although, if you' re still worried go talk to your doctor OR go for a SECOND opinion (find another doctor).

Hope everything out well for you!
Good Luck.

ie, eat every 2 hrs.
take your medicines and supplements
do not sit in one position for too long.
also if you are among 90% of pregnant... - sheetal [View Message]
