It is quiet surprising that a wrong meaning is taken for sincere questions.
Every phase of pregnancy, a particular part grows, the vital organs in the inital stage, the limbs etc in the next, skin and hair in the later etc etc.....When we can take folic acid to avoid neorological problems in the initial stage of pregnancy, whats wrong in taking stuff that would help form a good skin in the 7th month or so. If i ask questions abt Folic acid Wud you ask me a question if I wud lov or hate my child if it was mentally ill. Thats a stupid thinking.
Eventually the color goes mostly by the parents complexion, but toning it with additional nutrients, who would not want to do.
and Yes, 4-5 saffron strands on a warm glass of milk is said to be good for the babys skin growth as well as the mother.

Hi! I am amazed that eucated people on this site talk about eating things to improve the baby's complexion! All of these are baseless superstitions! I hope the site does not encourage such superstitious behaviour, or I am afraid I will have to stop visiting it on principle. Will you love your child any less if he or she is dark?? Are we still living in the age of apartheid? When Gandhi was thrown out of a train only coz his skin colour was not white?!! Wake up friends, grow up!

I am 7 months pregnant and i was told not to have tea as it darkens the baby's complexion and i was also told that milk and tumeric improves the baby's complexion. I am not sure how far this is true, but this is what quite a few mothers have told me.

Hi

You could drink milk with saffron in the night before going to bed. Its supose to bring good complexion to the baby as well as improve blood circulation for the mother

Dear Chiya and Shweta,

There is no scientifically proven diet to help in having fair complexion for the baby. But, anyway, why do you bother about the complexion? Rather, you should pray to God, that the child should be healthy and normal. So, take enough quantities of vitamins and nutrients in your diet and leave the rest to God!

Take Care,
Sonal

Chinese food cravings in pregnancy
