Due Date Club January 2006:sleeplessness

Hai all,

I am in my 31st week.for the past 20 days I am not able to sleep well in the night.I am feeling sleepy at all till midnight and in the mornings I am feeling more sleepy. I am feeling hungry in the late night times also. I have to get up eat some cookies and water and then I am not able to continue my sleep.

I am getting some unwanted thinkings like finding fault with others,scratching my head for silly things also which is repeated everyday. I hope I am much worried abt. bringingup my child in a very disciplined manner and these creates lots of thoughts in me.

pls. suggest me a good solution to come out of these.

Hi Sanya,

Am in my 32nd week and have a problem falling asleep at nites too. I keep tossing around all the time...making it difficult even for my hubbie to sleep :-)

Even i feel terribly sleepy in the mornings n afternoons. If u have a chance then sleep wenever u feel sleepy. That way u wont b deprived of sleep.

Instead of cookies late night, try having a warm cup of milk with crackers...thats more helpful. If u cant sleep, then watch tv, read a book or browse net...thats what i do too :-) Its not mandatory to sleep only during the nites. U can catch up with ur sleep in the mornings too.

On the emotional front, even i became verryyy moody. Reading ur experiences, i feel u are talking abt me :-) All these factors constitute pregnancy anxieties, which are pretty much commom. Am sure our other frenz here mite be going thru the same phase too :-)

I feel, having distractions can be a good solution. I spend most of the time watching movies, shopping for my baby online.. or reading books or jus sleeping :-) Just involve urself in some hobby like kinitting/painting if u r interested. Have a spa like thing at home..pamper urself ;-) Catch up with ur frenz/cousins on the phone and gossip

Just dont worry .. now is the time to relax..after the baby arrives, therez very lil for ourselves.
