Q: I have recently found that when my son urinates, he has a reflux problem. He is on antibiotics, but I wanted to know what I can do to help him. The doctor agreed that there is some reflux. Will he need surgery? Ishaani (Shimla, India) |
A: Treatment depends on the grade of reflux. GrI and II need medical treatment. Prevent repeated infections by the use of antibiotics and regular urine check-ups to prevent infection. If it progresses to III or IV, there is no option but surgery. Keep in touch with your surgeon. |
