![]() Views on Poll ![]() Name: Poo Country: India Comment: This is a really good question which is raised here. But we need to find the real problem before finding a solution. And what i realized was espicially Indian parents are very possessive in regards to what their kid will do. That is what blocks every other things coming to their minds. They try to make the kid do all those possible things which they think will help their kid to earn a good living in their future. They think they are doing it for their betterment but they never try to analyze the true skills of their own kids. I have seen people saying that hey my kid will become an engineer or doctor when he/she grows up. But have you ever heard an Indian parent saying I want my kid to become a teacher. Definitely no. You will never hear this. But go to any developed nation , there you will never ever find a parent deciding on what the kid's profession. Its the sole decision of the kid itself. Therefore UNICEF always says that Indian kids are always under pressure. But today's age is such that the pressure is inseparable part of childhood. However, parents can make it simpler for children by teaching them to enjoy learning and thereby decrease the pressure on them. Name: Sohan Country: India Comment: New age parents are confused and they do not know how to motivate and encourage children to perform well. Therefore, they end up putting a lot of pressure on them. They send them for so many classes including the tuition classes and the extra curricular classes so that their children do not lag behind. Children even do not have time to play because of these extra curricular activities. Name: Pradeep Country: India Comment: I do not think that the new age parents put pressure on children. In fact the new age parents continuously try to improve their parenting skills so that they can raise happy and healthy children. Yaa, there are few parents who just aim at good performance in exams as well as the extra curricular activities. However, the new age parents are intelligent and they want to raise happy and healthy kids. ![]() INDIAPARENTING IN THE NEWS HOME | Comments or Suggestions | Resources | RSS Site Map | Contact Us | Advertise with Us All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
