It is very wrong to raise children for your selfish motives and fulfilling your wishes. Children should be given freedom to think on their own and decide what is right and what is wrong. Parents should not impose their expectations on their children only because they are taking care of them. Name: Vidya Country: India Comment: I agree with Ashmi. Some parents have too high expectations from a child which is not correct and can hamper child’s development. Some parents develop fear in child’s mind in order that they should fulfill their expectations. It is very dangerous as some children have also committed suicide because of scoring low marks or failure in examination. Name: Ashmi Country: India Comment: It is not ok to keep expectations from child. However, expectations like good behaviour, studying on regular basis, good habits are ok. These basic expectations can be fulfilled by child. Parents should not have expectations like child topping the class all the time and getting cent-percent marks. It is very wrong to keep high expectations about child’s performance. ![]() INDIAPARENTING IN THE NEWS HOME | Comments or Suggestions | Resources | RSS Site Map | Contact Us | Advertise with Us All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
