Studies should be made interesting and not be forced onto them. It's not the marks which is important, but it is the application of the learnings in their life. Parents should understand this and help their children to grow as good citizens and not machines. Punishments are a strict NO to children. All children are not equal. Children are born with different level of intellect. Some children are intelligent whereas some children cannot score good marks. Therefore, parents should not punish children in any case. Parents should communicate with children in very calm manner. Punishments can only worsen the situation. Children will get scared of you and will not be able to share their problems with you if you punish them.
