A widow can certainly marry for her own comfort and companionship but she should not marry if she has future of children in mind. Memory of the real Father is precious for the child and in no way should it be allowed to fade away by introducing a step-father in his/her life.Issues of emotional and physical needs of the widow can be debated further.

It should be totally the choice of the lady, whether she wants to get married again after the loss of her spouse. Today, lot of people choose to be single parents. So if there is no financial problem and the lady is ok to raise child as a single parent then nobody should force her to get married only because of the child.

In country like India, widow remarriages are very few. However, all the families should support widow marriages because even they have a right to live with a partner, not only for the child it is important to have a father but also for a widow a support is needed. But, some women may prefer to be single parent by their choice. However, there should not be any hindrance to widow remarriage.

If the widow is very young and child is also very young then there is no harm in marrying again because it is very difficult to raise the child single handed. The biggest problem which single mother can face is the financial problem and if she is unemployed than no other problem will increase her worries than financial problem. Therefore, it is better to get married again for the better future of child.
