![]() ![]() Name: Pinkesh Country: India Comment: As number of educated parents increases the tendency of compeitition also increases due to which even less educated parents are fascinated and inturns gets dominated to push children into acting like a horse, teachers, parents and society acts like a jockey. Name: priya Country: India Comment: on the first, i would throw light on the pressures whch are put on the kids by parents themselves, we should not impose our dreams on kids, after ths ofcourse our education system should be modified, we should adopt more objective courses rather thn the cramming subjects, schools should empasise more on the overall devlopment of the child rather thn the only academic brightness. kids sholud not get the fobia from any subject or exams. Am keeping my fingers crossed and wish tht our education criteria gets change. Name: sakshi Country: India Comment: It is mixture of all education system as well as the pressure given on students. But parents upto certain extent correct because they think if no studies then there is no future. This is generated in parents mind because of education system. If there are various options available then definitely they will also think that ok if not this then this. But if no studies then no future then definitely that worry is in back of the mind of the parents. So in a way root cause is educational systems. The electives should be given to the students at early stage wherein they will be exposed to various alternatives and then they can select the one which suits them. Like in foreign countries they have so many options and no work is considered inferior to others. Society presssure is the other cause of all this... Name: Anisha Country: India Comment: It is really difficult to talk about who is responsible for the suicides committed by students. However, I think all factors contribute to this sad situation. It is better to think about how we can control this situation rather blaming others. It is time to come together and help children come out of this situation by adopting proper measures so that students do not suffer. After all we have to think about the betterment of our child so we should come together and stop this. Name: Kaushik Country: India Comment: I do not agree with Minu. I think our education system needs to be modified if you want number of suicides to be reduced. Our education system does not encourage children to prove their talent in the field of their interest. It is very necessary that children have various options open if they are not good at studies. So the parents are also ensured that if not studies, their child can do well in other fields. Name: Minu Country: India Comment: I do not think that our educational system is responsible for the increasing number of suicides committed by students. It is because of the pressure which they have to cope with for getting good marks or passing out. Parents should not have very high expectations from their children which results in lot of stress and pressure on students and as such students commit suicide. Students suffer as parents put burden of their expectations on them. ![]() INDIAPARENTING IN THE NEWS HOME | Comments or Suggestions | Resources | RSS Site Map | Contact Us | Advertise with Us All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
