If a women wants to stay at home, its fine. if someone wants to work outside she should do it. in this case its responsibility of husband n family members to support her in doing household chores n raising the child.If a women is financially independent it definetely boosts her self esteem. But few people are lucky to have such kind of spouse. In case husband is nagging stopping you to do anything according to your wishes, the it become necessary to have a career to maintain you self respect. And I strogly beleive if you a right balanced and smart woman with time management quality then even if you are career oriented you can be good home maker. Name: Narendra Country: India Comment: No, I do not think so. When a husband has a well paying job or he is very rich, women need not think about career. If husband is very loving and caring and provides everything to women, then why women should think of her career if it is not essential to work. It can also be possible is she is really insisting to work may be she can work from home or start her own business which bring a smooth co-ordination between her personal life and work life. I am saying this because sometimes it is not possible for women to continue her job because she is pregnant or needs to take care of small kids. And at the same time if husband is very supportive, and fulfills all her requirement so that she can easily take care of kids and house than do not think that a women should have any problem to compromise on her career in this situation. Name: Hema Country: India Comment: Yes, women should be career conscious because in today’s world only husband salary is not enough to run the house. At the same time career oriented women are more confident and independent and are capable to face the humiliation and torture imposed by men. If the women are conscious about her career, in future she can face the world with courage even if her husband leaves her by any reason. She can be independent and getting married only for the reason that they have to be dependent on parents will no more exist. Being career oriented gives a new life to women. Name: Saloni Country: India Comment: Yes, women should be career conscious at least in today’s age. In the earlier times women were not allowed to do all such things. In some communities even today women are asked to be in house and her duty is to take care of her house and children. Women are also abandoned to attend schools even today. It is not correct. Though these things are vanishing slowly, some customs and traditions in some Indian communities are creating barrier. I think that the first lesson which should be taught to every girl child when she grows up that she should be independent and career conscious.
