Having dinner together does not really count if the entire family is glued to the Television set. In our house too, dinner is compulsory for the family. In addition to that, the TV is witched off at this time. This ensures that there is at least some conversation at the table.

In our home, the rule is that everyone who is present in the house has to eat dinner at the same time. Luckily we do not have a microwave, so there is no choice but to follow this rule unless you are willing to have a cold meal.

It is a very rare occasion when all members of my family have dinner together. My husband is a businessman and he works late almost everyday. Since my children have to go to school, they eat earlier in the evening. Then, when my husband comes home, we eat our dinner.
