This helps get more time with the kids. Leaving the kids to the mercy of the maid that to in his or her formative years is not advisable. Name: Shilpa Country: India Comment: They are just a helping hand. Not necessary the child has to be looked after by them, but they can atleast help us in our household chores. I feel as far as the child development is concerned its should be much the responsibility of parents and maid can by a helping hand to do house work. Name: Harimohan Singh Country: India Comment: Doing work at home is a best excercise. after that no need of going GYM. Name: priya Country: Sri Lanka Comment: for people who think that maids are important pls treat them properly not like dogs Name: Nilesh Country: India Comment: Maid is necessary as in this fast life we don;t have enough time to devote to our family. We should not take their services in a useful manner, normally people becomes addict to their services. Name: Amy Country: U.S.A. Comment: Ofcourse they are needed. If they are there to help us. We and other family mmembers can put their effort in some constructive work or can take little time to relax rather than doing stupid home works Name: angel ( again) Country: United Kingdom Comment: if u are to tierd or ill im sure the baby's father or grandparents or auntys and uncles can help there is no need to pay lots of money for a maid to help. Name: angel Country: United Kingdom Comment: i think that if your child grows up with a maid looking after it he/she will not have a very close relastion ship with you. if u look after it there is more of a chance you and your child will be closer and he/she will listen to you and share things with you. Name: On maids Country: Singapore Comment: Having maids here can be an expense . On a decent rate part-as ask of 200- 250 rupees (equvalent ) and hour . If its a liv-in maid I gave to pay a levy of 6250 rupees plus the maid's salary of 5000 rupeese at least per monbth . In a country like Singapore where child care services are easily available and comparitively cheaper , I guess that it options at hand that we utilise . In a day care I am rest assured that my child is in safe hands and under the supervision of more than one person . At home the maid is alone with the child and god for bid there is no telling to what she may do to the kid . Espicially with little kids who can't talk ..... its a precarious situation . One may argue the benifit of a maid that jousework gets done , but my reply would be that it is only plain laziness that is making you say that . I think that the house is ours NOT the maid's and therefor , it is our responsiblity to do the chores . I think that it is only a question of time management and effor that the tasks require of people . So it is up to the individual's attidude to decide whether a maid should be necessary . Name: surekha venkatramanan Country: India Comment: i being a housewife say that maids are not required. As we are not in joint famalies and with all latest electronic equipments we can manage. For working ladies they should see that their husbands also do 50% of the household work because you are also sharing their which they are supposed to do alone(earning name & money for famaly) The bottom line is you can protect your hard earned money and avoid tension. Name: meera Country: India Comment: they are essential and we should be willing to pay them more since they help mothers to work and have a life! Name: Kiran Country: India Comment: Maids are not required if v are able to do our work then and there. We can always share the work at home according to our convenience Name: jigs Country: India Comment: we should not depend completely on them they should be there in case we are too tired or ill ![]() INDIAPARENTING IN THE NEWS HOME | Comments or Suggestions | Resources | RSS Site Map | Contact Us | Advertise with Us All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
