well, considering the envirnment, I am saying that dmy child has picked up few slang words, not realising the meaning of them all, hence I have made him explain what they mean subtly and now he has realised it and now he is gaurded against such fol language.

No, both my children aged 10 & 5, do NOT swear.I think this is mainly because both my self & my husband do not use swear words at all....well , neither did our parents. It is of no use to ask the child to stop swearing if he hears his father or mother swearing. In this case we teach by example, not by words alone.

Well, I am not sure if my son uses such words, but I can only stop him from doing so in public. Who knows what happens in private.

My child said the word 'bl....' about a year ago and i slapped him immediately. I haven't heard him use it since, but on and off I have heard his friends use swear words. He may be using them too, but never in my presence. I dont see how I can stop him any more than that.

Unfortunately, my son used an objectionable word recently. That means he must be using it in my absence.
