Name: Mrs godbole Country: India Comment: I have made it a point to take the children out to some historic monument on this day. Either we go on a long holiday, like we went to Delhi last year, or we go for short one-day visits, like to we plan to go the Gateway in Mumbai. MYself and my husband, based in Mumbai, try our best to make the children know of our past. Slowly, our kids have started responding. Name: Jaman Shah Country: India Comment: My kids are really not bothered. They just want to have fun on this holiday. But I try to tell them stories about our freedom fighters. Let us hope they learn something from their history texts too. Name: sharada gokhale Country: India Comment: My kids have always observed this day as the day for waering white. It is their gesture of paying homage to those who laid down their lives for India. Name: Dr Mehta Country: England Comment: We are settled in UK for over seven years now. But my kids and my family observe the RDay as something very special. We get together other Indian kids and sing patriotic songs. It feels very nice. Name: mehndi lala Country: India Comment: Of course, it means so much to them. Tney wake up early and go for the school parade. Despite all the killings and riots and communal upsurge in various parts of the country, they are such darlings, totally unaware of the times. I wish everyone gave the day, the importance that it deserves. ![]() INDIAPARENTING IN THE NEWS HOME | Comments or Suggestions | Resources | RSS Site Map | Contact Us | Advertise with Us All Rights Reserved Worldwide.
