![]() Views on Poll At what age should parents introduce Sex Education to their children? ![]() Name: EMILY P Country: usa Comment: I feel it is the parents responsibility to educate their children about sex. As a future educator I don't feel it is my responsibility to educate someones child about sex. I wouldn't expect teacher to teach such an important lesson to my child. Name: anil Country: india Comment: It is always necessary to educate your child about sex when it is a right time of his/her age, which in my opinion is from 11 onwards. But better after 11, the sooner. It is the age when they are entering in a new phase and should know the few basics about body, it,s sex parts and their functions. Also the advantages and misadvantages of masturbation etc which is a common thing during this age. I remember the kick which was received in back when I was found doing that during my first such act. is is not surprising? Name: Soumya Country: india Comment: Sex education should be a part of the child's learning process, and should be imparted in as natural a manner as possible. I guess the parents should get rid of their inhibitions first, before laying the 'bare' facts before their child. The first curious spark in the child should prompt the parents to start the education process. 8 yrs and above should be the ideal age ,I guess. Name: manoj Country: england Comment: It really is amazing at the way the population has voted for 11+. Basically they are relinquishing their responsibility until the age - by when the child can probably teach them a thing or two. It is vital that the first and best and right coaching is done by parents sooner than anybody else - ever! That is definetly not 11+. Name: shaily Country: india Comment: It is extremely important for parents to treat sex education as normally and possible and not create an " IT IS AN EMBARRASING TOPIC"kind of a background...I feel children should be made aware of their body parts as early as they are able to understand them. Then as the child grows older sex education must be discussed by teh parents as normally and openly as possible..WHY MAKE IT SUCH A BIG ISSUE?...Let them realise that it is all a beautiful and natural part of life... Name: Lakshmi Rajan Country: india Comment: I feel that sex education is very important. It is most essential that every parent give sex education to their children with out any hesitation. This would help the children to know its advantages and disadvantages. It also protects children from unnecessary thinkings and bad habit like (going to 'A' movies in the school time, reading poor magazines and talking the sex topic with friends). If we are telling to our children then they will not ask anything. But they will do something without our permission. Nowadays childrens are clever and understand easily. So we have to teach this. Name: shobha Country: India Comment: SEX EDUCATION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO YOUR CHILD AS SOON AS SHE IS IN HER TEENS BY HER PARENTS ONLY BUT NOT BY MEDIA OR ANYBODY ELSE SO THAT SHE DOES NOT GET USED BY ANYDOBY Name: sunil Country: india Comment: In my opinion , sex education must be imparted to the guys at the time of their marriage so that they can enjoy their marriage life. Name: basant Country: dubai Comment: While i agree with Ms.Alka that children must get sex info from their parents than get a distorted version from friends or servants.I'd like to maintain that even parents shud start answering their quetions about sex honestly and as early as possible.Don't we all remember little one's asking about, where did they come from and hoe it all happened. Name: Aliya Sultana Country: india Comment: I feel that Sex education is a must during the teen age period since this is the time when children get very much influenced by their friends both in positive & negative manner. Hence it is better to educate them with correct information. This will avoid the children to have misconception about sex. Name: ALKA Country: india Comment: ITIS BETTER TO LEARN ABOUT SEX FROM THE PARENTS THAN KNOW THE WORST PART FROM THE FRIENDS Name: Sindhu Jayaram Country: india Comment: parents should not let children rely on teachers or friends since they should not think that their parents know nothing. Name: Deesha Parekh Country: india Comment: It's very very important to give teh sex education to children. If parents don't do that, the children are likely to get it from some other source (like freinds, movies, magz), which may distract them. If u have a good and open relationship with your children, u shouldn't be having any problem in that. Name: kousar Country: india Comment: I strongly feel that sex education is very important. It is essential that every parent give sex education to their children with out hesitation. This would help[ the children to know its advantages and disadvantages. It also protects children. Name: T.L.Acharyulu Country: India Comment: Sex education is not point to know the children todevelop their knowledge. This is god gift. If sufficient age cone automatecally they know about. First of all we have to creat good encironment to develop their minds in other activities. Name: SARALA JAGAN Country: india Comment: I FEEL THAT ALL PARENTS SHOULD DISCUSS THE MATTER WITHOUT BEING SELF CONSCIOUS WITH THEIR CHILDREN.IT IS AN INEVITABLE PART OF GROWING UP. EN Name: Keshubhai Country: India Comment: I feel the topic is very delicate & imp. Some experts in the field should guide as to how should the sex education be given to children at home apart from the sex education given in the school. Name: Molly Varghese Country: usa Comment: I discussed the topic of sex with my daughter when she was 12 years old. I was suprised by how much she already knew but the fact that I discussed it with her has made her less self conscious about sex.
