AIMS OF SUPPORT
Our main aim is also to train young people from the street to run programmes on drug prevention and treatment also on HIV. We emphasis here is that young people should be instrumental to reduce the demand for drug and also to share the correct information on sexually transmitted diseases HIV AIDS. So they are trained as Animators to work in the organisation on prevention and treatment of drug addiction. These animators are in the age group between 15 to 22 years and they were on the street for atleast 5 to 7 years. So they understand the street cultural and dynamics very well. We have trained up few street animators to work on this project and they are doing very well. They work in day care centres, rehabilitation project, awareness campaign etc. In future, we would like to train up many more young people who could work in the implementation of drug demand reduction programme. We would
like to have help from volunteers who can give their time and expertise
to our organisation. They can be doctors, lawyers, bankers, businessmen
etc. we would also like people to donate educational and play materials,
house hold articles or food for the residential centre.

One
of our main programme is to help the children who are on drugs below 16
years. We run a special rehabilitation programme for these kids. Right
now we have got 105 children in our residential programme. Here we try
to change the lifestyle of a street child who has been on drugs. We keep
the children on a treatment programme for six months and then he is enrolled
in school, vocational training or put on a job (above 16 years), or sent
back home.
