Told parents and In laws

Hi,

Congrats to you all!

I have told my parents and in laws in 11th week. Have told a few close colleagues after week 13.

My MIL could not keep the secret and told her whole family and I was fuming at her as everyone started wishing me. I told her not to do tht as I am 30 and this is my first baby so anything can go wrong.

But if I would not have told her, she would have been angry with me. so well, now a few people know. :)

We did tell parents soon after home pregnancy test. And after 8th week told my boss and a colleague. Rest after 3 mths.

cat is out of the bag

Hi guys,

We waited until 8th week for the doc to say ' everything is okay' . Then we shared the news. At first, we wanted to keep it secret until completion of 3rd month but as I have nausea, I couldn' t wait to talk to my parents. So, the cat is out.
Another reason is: my son would have leaked it :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy...In my case, my parents & in-laws know. No one else.
One thing I found strange is your FIL knows but not MIL. Good going gal...:)

Perky, I knw its strange but i think u will agree that men can only keep sectrets. If my MIL /Mother knw it , then it would spread like a fire in the forest.
Plus as I may call myself lucky, no nausea at all this time, so I can keep the secret.

I am 8 weeks preg with my second child. Till date am a little nervous and only few of my friends, my husb and Father In Law knw it. As for my
mother and mother in law, and the rest of the clan, not yet disclosed. Will tell all after 12th week.

secret, very difficult

Deepa,

I know what you mean. I told my mom in India but not to my cousin in US. Two days later, he called me and congratulated me. I was surprised to find out that my mom told his mom and they told him right away. I was so mad at my mom for leaking before I got the chance to tell.
But you can´ t blame them. I guess its more difficult for grandparents to keep it a secret, especially news like this :)
