Leg Cramps

Why have I begun to suffer leg cramps

The growing pressure of the uterus on certain nerves could be responsible, as could an excessive intake of phosphorus and a shortage of calcium. Perhaps you need to correct your diet. Alternate periods of activity with adequate rest and wear support tights. You may also try exercising that leg gently or stand on a cold surface.

Why do I have a shooting pain down the right side of my hip and leg

As usual, the culprit is the pressure of the enlarged uterus that has affected the sciatic nerve and caused pain in the lower back and leg. You might get relief as the baby's position changes, or after delivery. Until then get adequate rest and apply a heating pad.  Your doctor might even recommend special exercises.
