There is a time period up to which you need to wait so that the tissues inside your body get back to original form. So before starting an exercise regime, consult your gynecologist for certain.

Start With Easy Exercises:

If you had a normal pregnancy and labour, the core muscles had to work hard. They need some rest and massage to calm down. So, you can start with some easy and breathing exercises while paying attention to your diet by that time.

Be Consistent:

Set small targets and give your weight loss program some time. This is good for your child’s and your health too. Start slowly but maintain regularity and consistency so that your progress is slow yet steady.

Take Care of Your Diet:

Pay attention to your diet. Include fresh fruits and vegetables, add fiber to your diet, drink plenty of water and consult your doctor if you feel fatigued or over exerted.

Postnatal Exercise After C-Section

If you had a caesarian, you need to take more precaution and give your body longer time than in the case of normal delivery. For the first six weeks it is completely inadvisable to take up any physical exercise. After you have gone through the check up, you can start with gentle exercise and that too only if your doctor advices you to do so. Start with a slow pace and remember vigorous gym workouts are still a long way away. Do not even try to start any exercise without your doctor’s consent.

Seek medical advice if you have shortness of breath, high palpitation of heart or too much of fatigue. Stop exercising immediately if you have any kind of vaginal discharge or pain anywhere in your body.

Only when you have had the medical clearance or you have crossed the three months time period, you can start with your exercises slowly. Increase the level or speed only according to the way your body responds. Watch out for any abnormal sign or any kind of pain as well.
