They only eat after the evening prayers are done and after the sun sets and the moon reappears. The whole month goes like this, and at the last day of the Ramadan month, Eid- ul –Fitar is celebrated which marks the end of the fasting season and the start of the Islamic month of ‘Shawwal’.
History of Ramzan
According to the Islamic history, Ramadan is the ninth month according to the Islamic calendar. After the end of this Ramadan month, starts the new Islamic calendar and the new year of the Muslims; the first month being the Shawwal. History says,
Mohammad, the great prophet and the founder of the Muslim religion received the message from Allah to reveal the Quran, the holy book of the Muslims, during this holy month of Ramadan. So the entire month is believed to be very sacred to the Muslims.
It is believed that during the holy month Ramzan, if you pray with full devotion then you can be much closer to Allah. You get the opportunity to get rid of all your sins through holy prayers during this month. The evil spirits cannot harm anyone during this period as they are believed to be chained by the holy spirits. So the entire month goes in keeping fast and offering prayers to Allah.
Celebration of Ramzan Eid
Ramzan Eid or the
Eid-Ul-Fitar is celebrated on the last day of the holy month when the Muslims break their fast and celebrate the festival with foods, gifts and all good wishes for each other.
They go to mosques and offer the last prayer of the year. They Arrange family get together, gift each other new dresses. The well- to-do Muslims arrange lavish feasts where all the family members are invited.
It is also in the customs of the Muslims to do charity during this holy festival. This charity is generally done by the Muslims during Ramadan and is known as Zakat-ul-Fitar. Those who cannot do the charity during the Ramadan month do so during this day. They offer raisins, dates, barley, new clothes etc to the poorer sections of the community.
The whole month of Ramadan goes with offering intense prayers to Allah, purifying one’s soul and reading the holy book of Quran.

The special foods during the Ramzan Eid include Sheer Korma, Biriyani, Dolma which is a popular dish of stuffed vegetables. Sweet dishes include milk and vermicelli with dates.
