What is Reiki? |

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy. It was found by Dr Mikao. Usui. On a human level, it is available to help us in times of need and to act as a source of guidance in our lives. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. |

Is Reiki a substitute or superior to God? |

No, we cannot regard Reiki as substitute or superior to God. Reiki is a part of this universe which is a creation of God. God is recognised by different names. There are different theories about the ‘one’ who is running this universe. However, it is a fact that all of us are governed by one ‘supreme power’. All of us recognise and worship this ‘supreme power’ in different ways and forms.
We always try to find solutions to our problems but at the same time we pray to God. When we are unwell we go see a doctor to recover and we also pray to God so that we are back in good health. However, when we are cured by the doctor we do not say or it does not mean God does not exist. Similarly ‘Reiki’ is a process where one can use the positive energy existing around and within us to heal ourselves and others.

Who can learn Reiki? |

Anyone and everyone can learn Reiki. There is no restriction or barrier for anyone to learn Reiki. However, certain age should be considered for children for learning Reiki. It is advisable that children learn Reiki from 15 years of age. At this age children have better ability to learn Reiki and to understand the technique in a better manner. |

How does one choose their Master for learning Reiki? |

It is totally up to you to decide which Master you wish to learn Reiki from, it should be a person who is capable, knowledgeable and experienced in the Reiki practice and whom you can look up to as your “Guru”. A Master is one who is always available for their student life long to answer queries and guide them on the Reiki path. A student can always share their secrets and views and ideas with their Reiki Master while learning Reiki (even when you become a Reiki Grand Master and start teaching others). |

Who is eligible to teach? |

Only a qualified Master can teach Reiki, one who has learnt, has experience and wants to impart and spread the knowledge of Reiki. It is very important to get initiation / attunement by the correct Master. |

What is Initiation / Attunement? |

It is that knowledge which was obtained by Dr. Mikao Usui after 21 days penance at Mount Kuriyama. The hidden channel present in human body is awakened by the unique process known as initiation, which can only be done and taught by a Master. It is not visible with naked eye just like air but it can be felt completely once you have been through the process. |

How can one become a Reiki Master? |

Reiki has 4 degrees / levels:
- First Degree (Touch Therapy) - In first degree basic knowledge of Reiki and touch therapy techniques are taught. By learning this person can attain balance of body-mind-soul and remain healthy. One can also heal others through Reiki by touch.
- Second Degree (Distant Healing) - In this you learn to pass Reiki from a distance through development of Intention Power. There are no boundaries of time and distance (Reiki can be passed to plants, vehicles, electronics, business, career, relationships and can be passed to receiver at any place ex: person sitting in India can pass to person in US)
- Third Degree & Master Degree – Third degree is divided in two parts 3A and 3B. In 3A initiation is done for improvement in healing power which gives faster and better results, after completion of 3A one becomes a MASTER HEALER. 3B is REIKI MASTER (Independent Reiki Teacher) wherein attunement technique for 1st and 2nd degree along with training for conducting seminars for first and second degree independently is taught.
- Grand Master – Once the student is confident about the practice and experience in conducting classes for level 1 and 2 and is capable enough to go further in this field they attain Grand Master Degree. This is the last and highest degree in Reiki. Only a Grand Master can impart knowledge and attune from 1st degree to Grand Master level.

How many days will it take to become a Reiki Master? |

After learning Reiki 1st degree one needs to do 21 days cleansing after which you are ready for 2nd degree. When you have practised 2nd degree for a good 30-40 days you can learn 3A after which you again need to practise for 45-60 days before you do 3B. When finished with 3B you should conduct some seminars which will give you experience and prepare you for Grand Master, generally you should wait for 2- 3 after 3 B to become Grand Master.
Now a day’s many Masters are teaching Reiki 3A and B together and then Grand Master after a gap of week or 15 days which is not the correct way and it does not benefit the student / learner at all. It is just a method of making fast money.

How many days are required for each degree? |

2nd degree- 2 days (6-7 hrs per day)
3A– 2 days (6-7 hrs per day)
3B- 3-4 days (7 -8hrs per day)

Reiki can be done on everything and anything. You can do Reiki on humans, babies, plants, animals, electronics, on your career, business, relations, house, and environment around you there is no barrier as far as this goes. |

There are only positive things about Reiki and one can do only good and positive things with it as the energy flow is meant to remove negativity and bad things and bring in al joy and happiness in our lives. |

Can we get answers to our questions through Reiki? |

Yes one can get answers to questions through Reiki and this all depends on the intensity of your practice and to a certain extent you inborn intuition and level of meditation. Many times you will have some visuals or dreams which will be related to your questions or a direct answer, it’s up to each individual how they interpret it. |

Does everyone have the same experience after attunement or during learning Reiki? |

No, everyone’s experience is unique and it varies from person to person. Some feel a lot of vibrations during the attunement and some don’t feel anything or are unable to understand their experience. At times during healing your hands will be hot / warm and at times cold, no matter what you feel remember the energy is still flowing and that’s what is important. |
