POWER PACKED MOONG SALAD Recipe

 30 mins.  5 Persons

  INGREDIENTS
500 gms green moong sprouts
4 tomatoes (chopped)
3 green chillies (chopped
2 cucumbers (chopped)
A bulb of garlic (chopped)
1 juicy lime
A bunch of coriander leaves (chopped)
A big bowl
Salt to taste

  METHOD
1. Boil the green moong sprouts completely. Avoid over boiling.
2. Strain it and put it in the bowl
3. Add tomatoes, green chillies, garlic and cucumber.
4. Squeeze lime over it.
5. Add salt. Now toss it.
6. Dress it with coriander leaves.

Sprouts are extremely good for skin and hair. Tomatoes have vitamin A and C. Garlic helps clear the blood stream. Cucumber kills body heat and cools it down. You can have this power packed salad along with lunch, dinner or whenever you feel like binging. Have fun while you become slim and trim.

Comments:   Hi Alison,Moong dahl and yelolw split peas are not the same thing. Don´ t use the yelolw split peas as different texture and flavour. Moong dahl resembles a red lentil and is very small, but yelolw in colour. You can also use toor dahl. This information has now been added to the recipe post. Any Indian specialty store will stock these varieties and in bulk, so much cheaper. Their spices are in larger quantities and much more economical. Curry leaves can be bought fresh (usually packaged) from fruitvegetable stores or larger supermarkets. They can be kept stored in the fridge for quite a while.
