BAKED SPAGHETTI WITH CHEESE BALLS IN SPINACH SAUCE Recipe | | Main Course Recipe by Tarla Dalal |
| | INGREDIENTS | For the spaghetti:
3 teacups boiled spaghetti
1 chopped onion
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped green chillies (optional)
1 tablespoon butter
Salt to taste
For the cheese balls:
150 grams paneer
2 slices bread
3 tablespoons fresh curds
1 tablespoon chopped coriander
3 green chillies, chopped
4 tablespoons plain flour
1/4 teaspoon soda bi-carb
Salt to taste
Ghee for deep frying
For the spinach sauce:
2 teacups chopped spinach
100 grams fresh cream
3 teacups white sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
For the baking:
5 tablespoons grated cheese
| | METHOD | For the spaghetti:
Heat the butter and fry the onion for 1 minute.
Add the spaghetti, green chillies and salt and cook for 1/2 minute.
For the cheese balls:
Soak the bread slices in the curds for 10 minutes.
Crumble the paneer and knead very well.
Add the soaked bread slices, coriander, green chillies, flour, soda bi-carb and salt.
Mix very well and shape into small balls.
Deep fry in ghee.
For the spinach sauce:
Steam the spinach leaves. Squeeze out the water.
Mix the white sauce, cream and spinach leaves and blend in a blender.
Add salt and pepper.
How to proceed:
Add the cooked spaghetti to the spinach sauce and mix.
Spread the mixture in a greased baking dish.
Arrange the cheese balls on top and sprinkle the grated cheese thereon.
Bake in a hot oven at 200 degree C (400 degree F) for 15 to 20 minutes.
Serve hot.
