BAKED SPINACH WITH CORN Recipe | | Main Course Recipe by Tarla Dalal |
| | INGREDIENTS | For the spinach layer
1 can (400 grams) cream style corn
1 tomato, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 teacups chopped spinach
1 pinch soda-bi-carb
2 green chillies, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
Salt to taste
For the potato layer
4 boiled and grated potatoes
100 grams crumbled paneer
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped coriander
1 green chilli, chopped
Salt to taste
For the baking
Tomato slices
1 teaspoon fresh cream
3 tablespoons grated cheese
| | METHOD | For the spinach layer
Heat the butter and fry the onion for 1 minute. Add the green chillies and fry again for a few seconds.
Add the spinach and soda bi-carb and cook for 1 minute. Add the chopped tomato and cook for 1 minute. Add the corn and salt.
For the potato layer
Mix all the ingredients very well.
How to proceed
Spread the potato mixture in a greased baking dish.
Spread the spinach mixture and cover with tomato slices.
Finally, spread the cream and sprinkle the cheese on top.
Bake in a hot oven at 230 degree C (450 degree F) for 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve hot.
