AMBROSIA Recipe

 5 Minutes  6 Persons

  INGREDIENTS
Oranges - 4 large (peeled)
Freshly shredded coconut - 2 cups
¼ cup sugar

  METHOD
1. Peel the oranges and remove the white pith.

2. Slice into small pieces.

3. Place in a serving bowl. Add coconut and sugar and stir lightly but     thoroughly with a large wooden spoon.

4. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours before serving.

Note:
Traditionally, this is served at Thanks giving in the USA in the South. Sometimes people add a few other fruits to it, too, like canned pineapple pieces, cherries, etc. It is served as a fruit salad to be eaten with the main course, though it may be on a separate dish or plate or bowl.
