YAM
AND TUVAR DAL CURRY
INGREDIENTS:
I cup yam (suran)
1 cup tuvar dal
a little tamarind (soaked in water)
2-3 tsp. cochin
masala
salt to taste
oil for frying
METHOD:
Cut the yam into big pieces, add
salt and keep aside. After 5 minutes heat the oil and deep-fry the yam.
Boil the dal and add salt, tamarind pulp and the cochin masala. Let it
boil. Then add the fried yam and simmer for 2-3 minutes.Serve hot.
