Yes luckily or unluckily I am a working mother. I am in govt. sector and a profeesional. My son is now 4 1/2 years old. I didn't get any support from inlaws. My mother left her school job to look after my son. She took care of him for 2 years because I couln'd find a good maid at that time. Then I kept him with a maid, then creche and then again maid. Life is really tough for a working mother. I want to tell you some thing more than that. In spite of the fact that I am contributing financially at home I have been totally neglected by husband and inlaws. Whenever they need nomey for operation etc. I am giving but still if I expect some help from them during the illness of my child they give some excuse and refuse it. Rather my husband also is thankless to my parents and he doen's want to listen any thing about his own parents.Due to his attitude now I have started neglecting my parents also. I don't want them to visit my house because my husband does not talk to them properly and instead of praising their efforts he blames them for not looking at the negatives of their daughter i.e. me. So this is life for me.I know I can not leave him because I don't wamt my son also to blame me in future. I feel I should contact some psychoanalyst so that I stay happy with all these problems because no body can change.

yes I am working woman and my MIL takes care of my baby. she doesn't give her any other food except what i prepare and keep for him which is mixture of rice, dal and 2 or 3 vegetables. As per my MIL's contention he will not eat that if i give him anyother thing and so he has no taste for other things. he has also developed a habit of vomitting if we force and so everybody is scared. i think i should quit and serve my baby who is just 21 months old, but i cannot as i am serving in good position.

No, I've never really ever been a working mother just a student but I decided to stay home and take time off to spend time with him a watch him grow instead of being a full time student. Now I see everthing I missed with my first child and realize I made the right choice.

I am a working woman. I am in IT Line. I have 5 years old son. I am unable to develop my carrier as I have to work at home and Office. Also we are unable to decide whether to go for the next child or not. If we decide not to proceed, in the future life my son have to lead a lonely life and if we proceed, it is difficult to manage two children.

I am a working woman. My daughter is now 9.5 months old. Till now, I have been on leave and I myself have been looking after her and wish to do so in the future also. But I work in the Govt.Sector and so as per the rules I may be with her only for a couple of months more and then I will have to join office. There are no financial problems but women don't always work due to financial problems only right? I do enjoy looking after my baby, becoming a child with her and growing with her too. But being in a completely new State right now (we just moved in to Mumbai) and being in a nuclear family i rigth now don't have any idea as to what i am going to do after a couple of months. who will take care of my darling baby and how can i work peacefully leaving her back with total strangers.

Yeah, I am a working woman too, but am totally dissatisfied with life. I feel miserable about not being able to spend time with my daughter and take care of her all day..I have a maid and my MIL behind to take care of her, yet my sweet baby doll is not well taken care of nutritionally. Behind me, MIL gives her only milk and banana through out the day. She is 10 months and survives only on milak and banana. I go home at 6, make dalia or khichri or soup etc. for her, but my poor naby has not developed the taste for it, so she just doesn't have it. Ultimately I have to give after a couple hours and give her milk!! But hey, no solution, I can't leave my job for reasons..

Yes I am a working woman and a mother of 13 months old daughter.- But I am lucky as my mother looks after my daughter. Otherwise my conscience would not have permitted me to leave my daughter with a servant or in a creche. I believe children should be cared for by their own parents or grand parents and should be spending their initial years of life in their own homes.

I work, but have been seriously thinking about quitting to spend more time with my 15 month old daughter. However, we should also realize that many women do not have this choice. Certain circumstances rely on dual incomes to support a household.
