One of the most exciting experiences of parenting is training your child to get through the school admission interview. The child is required to give this interview at a young age of 3 to 4 years in order to get an admission in a good school. If your child is to register this year, then these are 10 ways to prepare your little wonder for the interview.

Every child's academic life begins with his first school interview. Hence, every parent wants to make it the most exciting experience as the child's future depends on it. These interviews and oral tests were not at all compulsory in the past, but now they are mandatory.

Know details about school

As an intelligent parent, it is your first responsibility to know every thing about the school in which you want your child to go. You also need to be aware of the school admission process in detail. Most of the schools are very clear as to what they want your child to know. Before going or the interview, your child should know at least the name of the school where he or she is going for the interview. Know basics

Yours child should know the basics like his full name, his mother's name, his father's name, sibling's name and where does he stay. Your child must also know the alphabets and numbers. As also he should be aware of the phone numbers, home address and what are his parents doing. If your child is able to name vegetables, fruits, birds and colours then his chances to pass in the interview will be high.


Make an impression on others

Your child should always greet visitors, shake hands with new acquaintances saying good morning, thank you, welcome, take care, etc. as it will create a long lasting impression on the interviewers. As also while the interview is going on your child should keep a smiling face. Telling hello or smiling in front of neighbours, talking to them will help improve his communication skills which will be helpful later in life.

Maintenance of hygiene is very important for a child as it prevent him from falling ill. Teach your child to clean hands before and after every meal. Stop him from spitting in public places and throwing wrappers outside your house or window. These habits will not be tested directly in the interview, but they might get exhibited.


Stimulate curiosity

Always pinpoint to different objects while you are out with your child. Answer to all his questions and make him aware of everything around him. Make him attentive about the surrounding environment.


Be punctual

Never be late for any interview as it leaves a bad impression on the interviewer. Always reach fifteen-twenty minutes before the interview is scheduled. Reach there and then be aware of the activities that are going on. This will add to your knowledge about the school.
