The Britannica Internet Guide Award, is designed to recognize India's progress and achievement on the World Wide Web - this award is created specifically for the Indian audiences. The award for overall excellence on the web is given every month to a website that carries content pertaining to India. The monthly award will culminate in the annual award ceremony where prizes will be given in 4 categories - Overall Excellence on the Web, Content, Design and Technological Excellence. The procedure of selection is that five websites are nominated by BritannicaIndia.com editors and sent to the members of the jury, who award points to each site on the basis of how well they enhance the user experience beyond basic navigation and usability. The BIG award is presented to exemplary websites that redefine standards of excellence.
