Sanghi is trying to build a community of expectant mothers and a business
around that. The former consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in
Mumbai got the idea when she was expecting her child last year. "I
found nothing on the Net for Indian mothers," she says. That led to the
formation of indiaparenting.com. Today she runs a 12-man operation that
operates a 2,000 page website with topics as diverse as fertility, preconception,
new born care, baby names.... Money is still not coming in but she hopes
it will once enough people start coming to her site. Once a critical mass
is built, she expects revenues from a mix of sponsorships and e-tailing.
Sanghi has started selling designer clothes through the website.
