The School

Young Explorers understands the needs of young curious minds and aims at providing children with outdoor and indoor activities based on modern education offered by internationally renowned educators and child psychologists.

Its environment is develop for number of different learning experiences that focus on developing the children's I.Q. (Intelligence Quotient) E.Q. (Emotional Quotient), knowledge, creativity and social skills. Education is provided to children through games, play, and music & movements.

Leadership

Ms. Ila Sonawala (M.Sc.) - Principal

Mrs. Sonawala, Founder of Young Explorers. She is professional, Trained in Early Childhood Montessori Education in Seattle, WA, USA, and in Mumbai. She has also done an independent course in Early Childhood Education in Wisconsin, USA.

Ms. Nimisha Bhinde Khatau - Head Misstress

She is trained in early Childhood Education with a specialization in Child Psychology. Before joining Young Explorers, she was working as a Senior Teacher in another reputed nursery school for eight years.

Dr. Nilima Mehta - Honorary Consultant

Dr. Mehta is a consultant for child education, child guidance and parent-child relationships for Young Explorers. She has been working in the field of child welfare for twenty five years. She has been a consultant to several organizations like UNICEF, CRY, CHILDLINE, FSC, IAPA and ICCW.

Teaching Philosophy

Kids who start ahead, stay ahead!!

The human brain is a wonderful creation. More it is used, the more it holds. If you improve one function of the brain, all the other functions improve exponentially. A recent study done by a group of American psychologists found the first five years of the child's life the "crucial window" for maximum brain development. The brain is like a sponge, ready to absorb, store and retain the information at a tremendous pace. The younger the child is, the easier it is for him/her to absorb simple facts which form the basis for complex later.

Learning for children is fun. It is highly stimulating and they seem to think of it as games. Young children are very curious. They watch, wonder study, investigate, discover question & explore their new world through their five senses.

The Teachers

All the teachers of the school are trained, creative and experienced in child education. The teachers prepare the children for interviews in reputed middle school in Mumbai.
