Creating Readers Enriching Learning
 

Scholastic India is a subsidiary of Scholastic Inc., a USA based company, which has, since 1920, introduced young people to the joy of reading, and contributed to their understanding of the world. Launched by M R Robinson, a schoolteacher, with the country's first classroom magazine, the company has grown under the leadership of his son, D R Robinson, also an educator, into a highly respected major publisher of quality materials in print and electronic media for children, parents and teachers.

Scholastic India's mission
Scholastic India's mission is to provide children with reading and learning opportunities that will cultivate their minds and enrich their lives. Through Scholastic School Book Fairs and Scholastic School Book Clubs, we offer, at easily affordable prices, the finest books from around the worId, produced not only by Scholastic, but also by select local and international publishers. By offering children, through the school system, a wide selection of books, we give them an opportunity to read by choice and not by compulsion.

We work with authors and illustrators for publishing children's books developed by them. We are also setting up a co-publishing programme to assist regional publishers bring out quality books in Indian languages.

As part of Scholastic Educational Services, we organise workshops for educators on creative teaching, and on inculcating the habit of reading. Also, we hold activities for children on book-related subjects.

We believe in the power of books to change and improve a child's life, and we are committed to bring to our children the joy of reading and learning.
