HEALTHY (NYLON) CHIVDA Recipe | Snacks Recipe by reluctant_chef |
| INGREDIENTS | Heathy and so easy! Perfect for teatime or picnics. (Called nylon because of super thin poha)
INGREDIENTS:
Thin poha (flattened rice or nylon poha)
Daalia (variation of chana daal)
Peanuts
Almonds
Cashews
Rye
Kadipatta
Salt
Haldi powder
Oil | METHOD | Dry roast thin poha in a pan on a slow flame. Keep stirring intermittently to prevent it from getting burnt. Poha should become crispy (check by tasting it). Roasting may take 10-15 min depending on quantity. Then take it all out on a large folded newspaper.
In another pan, heat oil and saute rye and kadipatta. Then add more oil and deep fry peanuts, daalia, almonds and cashews. (You can slice them or cut them in pieces if you like). Once ready, add salt and haldi powder. Remember the quantity is for the entire chivda.
Now pour these friend nuts with the oil over the poha and mix it well. Add salt or haldi if required. Your chivda is ready.
Enjoy with a hot or a cold beverage!
(Tip: It is very healthy because you can choose how much oil you want to add. This also become a diet chivda. If you like your chivda a bit sweet, feel free to mix some powdered sugar at the end)
