Lemon Rice served during Pongal




INGREDIENTS:

2 cups basmati rice 
1 tsp chana dal 
1 tsp urad dal 
¼ tsp asafetida (hing) 
¼ tsp mustard seeds 
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp ghee
salt (as required)
juice of two lemons
 

METHOD:

Wash and cook the rice in water till done. Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, asafetida and turmeric powder lightly in it.  Pour over cooked rice and mix well. Add salt to the lemon juice and mix it into the rice. Serve hot.
