Sweet Pongal of Tamil Nadu 




INGREDIENTS:

1½ cups rice 
½ tin condensed milk 
50-75 gm jaggery 
3 cloves (powdered) 
3 cardamoms (powdered)
2 tbsp ghee or butter 
1 tbsp cashew nuts (chopped)
1 tbsp almonds (chopped)
1 tbsp raisins (chopped)
 

METHOD:

Fry cashew, almonds and raisins in ghee till light brown. Keep aside. Prepare cooked rice in water till the rice turns soft and the water evaporates. To the cooked rice, add jaggery and condensed milk and lower the flame. Cook until it turns dry with constant stirring. Add cardamom and clove powder and mix well. Sprinkle fried nuts and raisins.
