I'm truly blessed to have twins. I find it double blessings from god. Being mum first time with twins has been really "challenging" for me but in my pregnancy itself I kept enforcing it in my mind that I will have to make it up. When I came home with my two darling sons, Shaun and Neel, I instinctively got into the role of a mother. Hard but so naturally it came I can't believe it. Not at any point in time I doubted my capacity of a new mum but luckily I got the support of my parents and my husband. Hello and Happy Easter to those who celebrate. I'm 49 years old and my identical twin sons; Malcol and Joe will be 7 in in May. They are a joy. If you are expecting twins just take one day at a time. Don't worry about two, three etc. years from now. That will stress you and babies too much. Just enjoy each day as it comes so you can appreciate them as they are. Yes it will be challenging, but be ready for all the love having twins will bring. Don't let others treat one twin different than the other. Watch out for relatives. They will say one is cuter or smarter looking. That will effect the twins negatively. Please correct them in front of the twins. Remember yourself to treat the twins as indiviuals sometimes. It's hard when they look identical. We tend to think of the together all the time. I've learnt that it's unfair. One twin may be slower in learning that the other and that's okay. Get all the help from thier school you can and you tutor them the best you can. Hug them both every day and let them know you love them both no matter what. Get them envolved in extra curricular activities so they will fill more of an individual than a twin. It can be stressful at times being a twin so make their lives as peaceful as possible. To the mom carring twins now with the husband traveling far for work, make a chart. A chart for each twin while they are infants. I made it for feeding, pooping and peepee. It sure helps. It too much to remember which twin had how much oz. of milk etc. Pray foe strenght each week and you'll get it. Also, sleep as much as you can. Twins can be a bundle of joy. Oh yeah. watch, they will automactically switch personallities too. I noticed about age 4. It will be a joy watching them comfort each othee and just listening to their conversation. It's okay to cry when times get rough, but don't despair for long. A brighter day will come tomorrow! Again, stay positive and use all the resources you can. Your twin will give you double love (smile)

At this age I'm learning that it's best for them to have separate friends to develop their own individual personalities and so there is no confusion for the friends because it can be frustrating for them when they are together and people treat them as one and just call them "the twins" which i think is degrading because they have names. Also they like to interupt each other when talking it's important to tell them not to do this because what they each have to say is important to them to get across and to the listener. Try to take them out seperatly one with mum the other with dad to relatives or friends places so that people see that they do have different personalities and it will be easier for them to tell which is which next time based on this difference.

Im a proud mother of twin boys, they're fraternal and their names are Dylan and Devyn. Theyre 17 months old and have a growing personality. They love to play with each other and sometimes they push each other down. We have almost 2 of everything and it seems as though they dont care just as long as they get the toy away from whoever has it. It's quite funny. One of them is 26lbs and is a picky eater, the other in 20lbs and eats anything... very different from one another but Devyn the youngest of 2 mins is very protectant of Dyla, who has asthma and other repitorial problems. hi. i have two boys - jaco and anton. they are almost 5 months. they only wake up once about fourish some times. i think this is quite good. i got advice to wake the one up when the other one wakes up. i did not do so, as it seemed like the long term effects would not be good. it is harder to wait for each one to wake up on their own time, but it only took a week or two before they slept through - different things work for different babies and parents. my result was better than these of the parents who woke up the other twin. good luck and to those breastfeeding - don't give up before 6 weeks!!

(and the both love making their sister a partner in crime) They LOVE each other dearly, but FIGHT like cats and dogs, One Literally Broke the other ones nose tonight!!! (its never boring here). But no matter how much work and how hard it is, they bring me, their siblings and their dad ten times more joy and love. It is worth it!!! I always tell them that they better take care of me when I get old (or older I should say, I'm 42) because of all the work they cause me now taking care of them!! It's a blessing from God to have twins. My first pregnancy was with twins. I found out when I was four months pregnant and almost lost it. God gives you the patience to deal. To me it's the same as having one baby you only have to do everything twice. It's wounderful, my son and daughter are nine years old now and I have a two and a half year old son. God Bless.

Hi i have a girl 6 yers old and then identical twins who are 5 years old. It was such a problem bringing them up my husband didnt want me to get preg 8 months after the firt delivery and i forced him and when i got preg it was twin. The were normal delivery but hospitilised for 43day.because they were premature( born at 30weeks) The second twin had immature lungs and both had respitory problems and a hole in the heart as well. But by god grace they are very well now. Going to normalk schools and very much a normal chile and over weight boith of them. There birth weight was 1.5kgs now 5 years old and 25kgs each. I am thanking god for blessing me with themm and makingthem normal kids with no health problems. They grew up with difficulty but now the only complaint i have is that they are so naughty the treacher alwasy complain they are so talkative and figgity and fighting with eachoter in classs. Parents of twins. I know it seems like enless problems with bringing up twins but the are so much enjoyment you woill learn to appreciate it in time i did!!!

I had such a rough time with my twins at first. My oldest (by 2 mins) was in the NICU for 2 months and my smallest, for one. My advice to new twin parents is to be very careful with them once they're home cause you don't want to have them rehospiitalized with something like RSV.
