I am teaching in Thailand where the children in school all have nannies to do everything for them. Parents believe that they are doing the best for their child by doing everything for them. That was a wonderful article. What do I do if my 10 year old daughter, who is otherwise very smart,never finishes her class work on a daily basis? Her reasoning is that she is too bored to keep writing the class work. I keep telling her that it is very important to learn to finish our respective jobs and be self reliant. Also lot of time gets wasted by finishing the calss work at home. Any suggestions?
