Regardless of what Marialgely said, tube ligation reversal is a fact today with almost 70% chance of pregnancy after the procedure depending on type of ligation and fertility health of the woman. I am 43, my husband is 34 and we are due to have our first baby. I met my husband when I was 37 and we knew the risks were great trying to concieve at my age. We tried for 2 years, artificial inseminations then IVF, we decided to stop and give it a break for a while because it's all so stressful and I hate those injections, well the very next month I didn't get my period and low and behold, I'm six weeks pregnant, I know it's only early days but I remain positive because I feel like I've been given a gift from God. My advice to all you older women out there, your never too old, I believe where there's a will there's a way., and if it's God's will, it will happen.

I am a 37 year old female who has been told that she is infertile and has been referred to an IVF consultant. Have had one previous attempt at IVF back in the 1994 with now ex husband. Presently living in the USA with my english partner who is 43, away from the stress of relatives we have just discovered we are expecting our first child in early 2007. Im 37 and in my 22nd week of pregnancy, 1st time! The triple screen gave her a 1.2% chance of having Downs, level 2 ultrasound says she looks fine. Those are good odds but still scary, dont want amnio, the risk of miscarriage isnt one we want to take...its a long wait till her birth...hope I can handle the worry.

A long while ago I had been pregnant in my left tube and it was removed. But two years ago I had my right tube tied. I had to refrain from intercourse it had become painful. I was having lower belly pain, swollen back, feet and hands, left arm and joint pains and uncontrollable weight gain; just big all over. I visited a GYN doctor and got a sonogram and probe. A cyst on my left ovary the size of 3cm was found. I had a pap smear. Afterwards, I continued to spot daily. My physician said it was normal to bleed the day after. But this was highly unusual for me. I never bled after a pap smear. He suggested a D&C. Also a Laparoscopy was ordered. Once the Laparoscopy was performed they found in addition to the small cyst, fibroids and a swollen fallopian tube the size of an orange. All problems were solved. I am so blessed and thank God daily for my physician. I strongly suggest taking your health seriously. Ask questions, get physicals, annual pap smears, mammograms, etc.

For all those wonderful women in tyheir late 30's early 40's having babies congrats!!! i had my oldest who is 11 at 39, my second who is 4 at 46 and the baby who is 18 months at 49, i am 50 now well 51 in a month, and i love it!! the older you get the more patient you are to handle children, i love being an older mom. BTW all my children and very healthy and i never had a complication during any of my pregnancies.

I realize that this is many years later, but I have good genes (aunts and grandmother that has 8 children each with the last ones in their 40s), and am in relatively good health. I have been told that taking the pre-natal vitamins make a great difference if you take them before your pregnant. They contain folic acid, which is good for helping to prevent neural tube defects. My husband and I are considering pregnancy and I am 37. I am scared because of all the stats I have heard, but I would like my husband to have a child. I have already started taking the vitamins although I am not pregnant yet. Anything we do in life could have negative results. I have three children from a previous marriage, and one of them has behavorial problems. I was in my twenties when I had her.

I had a beautiful baby boy when I was 35yrs old, I had the triple test and at that time I was told I had a 1:5,000 chance of my child having Down's. Now expecting my 2nd child at 37yrs and have been told I have a 1:50 chance. I am currently waiting to have an amnio, all is in God's hands now. Statistics are just that, and I've been told that more often than not the triple test can give 'false positives'.
