Name: Uriel Country: Puerto rico Comment: Message to Graciela! Regardless of what Marialgely said, tube ligation reversal is a fact today with almost 70% chance of pregnancy after the procedure depending on type of ligation and fertility health of the woman. You can do an internet search on “tube ligation reversal” to see the options. Note: I am not related to this website at all. I am PhD in Health Services and I just like to see that women ALWAYS have options, they should NEVER give up! Name: Lisa Country: U.S.A. Comment: Yet another scare article about being an older mom - I'm so sick of it. I'm 40 and expecting my first child. I got pregnant without fertility treatments and my baby is healthy - had amnio. The statistic about a 40 year old mother having a 3% chance of a down syndrome baby is inaccurate. It is 1.4% chance of having a child born with any chromosomal abnormality. This is still very low. Country: usa Comment: For Graciela Vargas: You can have your tubes untied! ( I don't know the name of that surgery) My mother had her tubes tied years ago, then had them reversed and had 2 more kids 10 years later! Name: Patricia Thomas Country: usa Comment: A long while ago I had been pregnant in my left tube and it was removed. But two years ago I had my right tube tied. I had to refrain from intercourse it had become painful. I was having lower belly pain, swollen back, feet and hands, left arm and joint pains and uncontrollable weight gain; just big all over. I visited a GYN doctor and got a sonogram and probe. A cyst on my left ovary the size of 3cm was found. I had a pap smear. Afterwards, I continued to spot daily. My physician said it was normal to bleed the day after. But this was highly unusual for me. I never bled after a pap smear. He suggested a D&C. Also a Laparoscopy was ordered. Once the Laparoscopy was performed they found in addition to the small cyst, fibroids and a swollen fallopian tube the size of an orange. All problems were solved. I am so blessed and thank God daily for my physician. I strongly suggest taking your health seriously. Ask questions, get physicals, annual pap smears, mammograms, etc. Name: liz Country: usa Comment: What the possibility for a 40 years old woman to have 1st child? They contain folic acid, which is good for helping to prevent neural tube defects. My husband and I are considering pregnancy and I am 37.
