Think this has some good points. With best will in the world things will get lost and broken, but kids do need to learn to look after their things. When I was growing up money was short, and I was never allowed to forget that! On occasions I was deliberately destructive I felt my mother's cane on my bottom. I didn't do it often.

Although the information above was very helpful, my question is what does one do when her child of age 14 yrs sells say a $50 top for a few quick bucks, and this is inspite of the weekly allowance he takes?????
