the article is very helpful sp.for women of this time.there is a saying in gujarati "daya dakan ne khaye" that is kindness always backfires. its the case sp. with servants. my experience says just stick to your salary,emotionality does not work no matter how much u do for them.

When I first came here, I was glad to know that help full time eas available easily and affordably also. But like a love poem quotes ' behind every handsome man lies an ugly facade' , 'Behind every luxart lies a thousand headaches' . My maid was horrendous . She argued back and spoke rudley to the last word. She would tell me directly thatshe could 'nt do some tings . I have a maid's room and bathroom and she said she could'nt sleep there because it was too narrow. She faught with my parents, aunt and inlaws when they visited . She demanded untimely and exhorbitant advancexs in salary and when I said that I could 'nt give it , she asked me if I was keeping her for a status symbol. A maid as a status symbol ...My left foot.
