My Maid stole my daughter's frock and when I questioned her she claimed complete innocence . Only when I threatened to make a ploice report did she admit it . Needless to say I fired her soon after . One more tip when hiring household help is to get a thorough medical check up done for them. I had a doctor friend who hired a maid and when she conducted a through medical checkup and found out that the maid had AIDS . Some checks we must do include Urine , blood (for AIDS and other vernarial diseases ) and chest X-ray

This article helps, however, it is very hard to catch a maid stealing, as they seem to go for the little (yet nice) things which you are not likely to notice missing right away. It's very difficult to keep track of every single little thing you own, especially when the maids do your laundry. I guess the best thing is to know a maid's reputation before you hire her. Also avoid hiring multiple maids at once, because they always tend to blame one another and it's very difficult to pinpoint it on one person.
