If you use your balcony for drying clothes, there is a dryer which you use to hang on the balcony's bootom above you. you may hang it down when you need to dry clothes and put them on, then put them back up. very handy. with that, you have additional space to put folded chairs and maybe a hangup table.

I have a small balcony but I made the most of it. It is my garden. I placed a 2 tier fountain that sounds so beautiful anytime of day or night. I placed potted plants and flowers all around it to catch the water that splashes out. It waters my pots. A few lush ficus trees in pots. I have small lanterns for night time and ambience. A small glass Bistro table with two small chairs. It is my escape day or night. Everything grows well. The ficus trees also help to provide privacy and shade. I also put an outdoor rug so that I can walk comfortably and it won't be cold. Nice cup of coffee in the AM or tea at night. And talk about low maintenance instead of a gigantic yard. I feel blessed to have this little piece of heaven to enjoy peace and quiet and nature.

we just purchased a highrise condo in chicago with a tiny balcony with a great view. I spray painted an iron wall flower box bright blue- it will hand on one wall. Added 2 small chairs painted in aqua blue! can't wait to see it all come together
