Like others, I think it is much better to tell the child at an early age that he/she was conceived via AID. If the parents feel comfortable with this information, it will be a lot easier for the child to deal with. And finding out later (because of hereditary problems, or when parents get divorced and someone lets it slip) is much worse.

i couldnt have a baby for 5 years because my sperm count was almost 0, our doc told that donor insemination was the only option for us, my wife had gone on an overseas business trip and i was told that she got pregnant by her boss during that trip, we decided to carry the child the full term and the child is 2 years this december

I worked as a lab tech in a fertility clinic. Since I was rh negative I was used as a donor often from 1983 thru 1996. My girl friend did not like it and several years after we married she demanded that I get another job. I cannot say how many babies I had but I was in charge of performing the fetal heart monitor tests on the pregnant women to detect pregnancies and the number was well into the hundreds.

i dunno wot to say on this topic... i got told randomly i was an A.I.D child after ive gone thru many thingz in my life as it is. bein told so late in life tore me apart, with so many thoughts runnin in my mind, and a year later i still dont know wot to think of it or myself. in some cases i am glad knowin im not blood related to who ive alwayz known to be my dad

i am a child of AID and i was told when i was 7 yrs old. i am very happy that i was told because it cleared up a lot of things, like why i look like nothing like my "Dad". I think it would have been terrible if i hadnt been told.

A.I.D method : what is the possible blood group of donor when the couples both are B+_ blood groups.let say if the donor is different blood group how shall we explain to the child later on?

I think it is wrong not to tell the child. The child has a right to know and if told at an early age it wont come as a surprise as they get older. It could easily be let out accidentaly and its best that they dont find out by accident.
