Hey ladies... My name is Amanda and my husband and I are trying to have baby number 3. I have PCOS and have been started on 50mg Clomid, 1st cycle. We tried for 3 years to get pregnant with our son, and after being born 2 months early and only 2 pounds my ob/gyn found that I have a blood clotting disorder (factor V) Which isn't that uncommon, but most women never have a problem with it. So we tried for a year before we got pregnant with our daughter and I was then diagnosed with PCOS. Amazingly enough we got pregnant on our own again, without the clomid. Unfortunately she was still born at 2 months early. She was delievered almost 12 1/2 weeks ago. After coming to peace with the tragedy of her loss we have decided to try again with the Clomid. no luck so far. It is really frustrating. And I am not to judge at all but what hurts themost is hearing all of these young unmarried girls getting pregnant on a onenight stand or just casually having sex either with a boy friend or someone... My husband and I have a lot of people that we know that have done just that, a one night stand and then they act like everyone owes them the world. And here my husband and I can provide a good life for a child, a mom and dad that are both around and very much in love. I am a stay at home Mom as well. I just want to start off by saying to everyone that you have to live your own life! I came to this page to look for some advice on some products I have heard about and some of the things I read was not fair. I love the Lord and I know that God never gives you more than you can truely handle. He also says not to judge!!! I am a married women but my sister is not we live two different lives. The doctor had me on clomid I started at 50mg and went up to 150mg. My period has never been right. Well I gained alot of weight and the doctor took me off my meds. I had to lose some wait. Well not even a month later I had the chance to get this wonderful four year old. You may not believe me but she looks just like me and we even have the same name. So now my baby room is her room and no matter where we go people say "She looks just like you.". We are no relation, God gave her to me. She is the next to oldest of 7 kids and I am considering the new born also. The mother does not have any of them. Most of them are spread from dads and families. Well since we got her my period has been fairly regular but I don't really want to go back on the clomid since I was on it for so long. I heard about Geritol and I though now that my cycle is right after 8 years of being irregular and 4 years of meds that I would try to get PG again. i believe the reason I did not get PG at first was because of my little girl and the chance to get her. God works in wonderful ways and I think I may have a chance here. I am just trying to give it alittle push.

Hello ladies. My name is Kaye and I have a very irregular period since my menarche. I got married in my late 20s and all I ever wanted was to have a baby. I got pregnant 3 years later but only ended in M/C. DH and I were so devastated so we seek medical attention. My new OB-GYN put me on clomid ( I started with 50 mg then increased it to 100 mg). It was such a very exhausting procedure. After 2 years since my M/C, I got preg again and thank God it was a successful pregnancy. When our DD turned 1, we decided to TTC #2 but as usual, I just can't conceive on my own. I told myself, I don't want to take clomid again so I searched the internet for some answer to my problem and I came across with Ovulex. It contains herb and I heard excellent feedbacks about this pill. It says in its website that some women do get pregnant after 1 month of taking it. Well, it didn't convince me right away. I told myself it was only for ad purposes and it's impossible to happen (especially to me). I talked to my DH about it and he told me to do more research about it and if it really worked to other couples then maybe we'd get it a try. So back in June 2006, I ordered my first bottle that arrived after 7 days. I took the first pill on the last day of my AF (I waited for AF that month just to make sure I wasn't preg or anything...just to be on the safe side...you know). I took the pill every 12 hours at exactly the same time. So if I took the first pill at 9 AM, I would take the next at 9 PM (that's according to the instruction that came with it). Well, to be honest I took it with hope but at the same time scared ( for the side effects). I didn't almost finish taking it, I was about to throw the remaining 4 in the trash but DH said I should finish taking them so we could find out if it's working or not. Ok, so I did. July came and I was waiting anxiously for the result, OMG! AF came! Ahhhhhh!!!!! I blamed myself for being so infertile. I told DH I wasn't gonna order another bottle of ovulex since it doesn't work for me. DH respected my decision and so I decided to forget about this pregnancy thing. Ok, come August...I was waiting for AF but it didn't show up. I just ignored it, told myself I'm irregular anyway. It was 14 days since my supposed period and was still a no-show so I did an HPT and it was a BFP! I couldn't believe it so I tested again the next day it was really positive. I called my OB-GYN and did a blood test and it was really POS. Now I'm almost 12 weeks and my tummy has started showing. This is my story, so to those who are still skeptical to try Ovulex, why don't you try it. Ovulex might be for you. I know this pill is not for everybody but I think everything is worth a try if you really wanted to have a family of your own. God bless and baby dust to all the TTCs.

I know that it seems like all teens that become pregnant are irresponsible, etc.... However, I was upset when I saw some of the ways that people judge teen mothers. I got pregnant with twins when I was 17 years old. I ended up marrying the father, but it wasn't because of the babies but because we had planned on doing so anyway. The babies were kind of a suprise but we were happy about it. I'm nearly 19 now and have two beautiful baby girls to show for it. I love them with all of my heart. I am a stay-at-home mom. I don't party, drink, or smoke. I'm just like any regular mom. I graduated high school when I was 16 years old, and I had been going to college when I became pregnant. This Fall I am going back and will finish next year. I am excited. I only wanted to give advice to all of you.... To those teens wanting to become pregnant: It's so hard to raise a baby, let alone two, and you have to consider if the father is even going to be around. I don't think that anyone who is unmarried should have a child because that baby needs both parents, and they need to see what normal marriages are. Your body will be changed forever, and you will need to give up almost all the fun things you used to do in favor of the baby's needs and wants. Think seriously before you try to have a baby. To those trying to have a baby but haven't been able to get pregnant: I too have problems getting pregnant now. In fact, I may never be able to have a child again. Just know that everything is in God's time and try not to stress so much over it. There are millions of women in your shoes and I know this may not help make you feel better, but chances are that you will conceive when your body is ready. We are so excited. I convinced myself that I needed to see a fertility specialist after being told by several doctors that I was fine. If you are not married you should not be trying to get pregnant. You should be focusing on your education and learning as much as you can so that you can be exactly who you were born to be one day. Shimicka first of all this is an adult site. Being pregnant at 13 is nothing to bragg about I am sure you're parents are pleased. I am willing to bet that you are not even sure of the father of your child and are probably blaming some boy who denies even knowing you. See we are all married women or adults actively involved in real adult relationships our husbands are old enough to support our children and most of all we have degrees we can read and write so we will be able to teach our children. My DH & i have been married for over 9 years now and have not been successful in conceiving a child (we have been actively ttc for about 6 years). I believe that the reason it is so hard for me to have a child is because of what happened to me when i was younger. I had a large cyst rupture on my ovary when i was just 18 years old. My life was in jeopardy but thankfully because the doctors were so quick to diagnose me...i made it!! After my surgery i was concerned that my fertility would be affected. At the time, the doctors reassured me that i would have no problems in having a child later on since i had both my ovaries intact. Unfortunately, because of the "trauma" (internal bleeding and such) my body endured, i had ALOT of scarring to my fallopian tubes (even though they are open). I went for surgery a year ago to have the scarring scraped off (the doctor told me he was only able to remove 75% of the scarring). I was very hopeful for the first year but the year has since come and gone and still no baby. I have just recently purchased a bottle of Ovulex and i am hoping a praying that it works for us. I have been taking it for 3 weeks now and have NOT experienced any side effects. I am thankful for this site because not only can i relate to many of the women here who are trying desperately to get pg, i finally have a place to go where i don't feel "different". We are all here for the same reason...to find a solution to get pregnant!!! Hey Ladies! If you are having trouble getting pregnant, go see your OBGYN and have them to do a vaginal ultrasound to see if you may have fibroids or cysts on your ovaries. My spouse and I have been trying for 8 years and everytime I go for my annual check-up, I am told that my results or fine. I finally found an OBGYN who is willing to go the extra mile and discovered I have fibroids which can keep me from getting pregnant. Dear Ladies, My husband and I have been trying now for 4 months with no luck however, my OBGYN has suggested a few tricks on how to up your chances of getting pregnant and i want to share them with you.I am also a human sexuality major and have learned some of these things from class 1) I does not hurt to start taking prenatle vitamins and folic acid. 2) The best chances of getting pregnant are during your ovulation period. i was told in may of this year thai was pregnant and i went to see my Dr who confirmed that i was pregnant but wanted to redo my quantitative HCG because it was at 6 and ultra sound shows that there is something but they are confused. I desire so greatly to have a child of my own. October 12, 2002. I found out I was pregnant for the 1st time I may life! I was just coming out of a 4-year relationship w/this guy to whom I adored. I spent a large part of that relationship trying to get pregnant. When it never happened w/him, I thought it was my fault. However, when our relationship ended, I was sorta happy that it hadn't b/c he hurt me so bad in the end. To make a long story short, I met this other guy a year or so later. Shortly after we started being intimate, I missed my cycle and later found out I was pregnant. I was excited and scared at the same time. At least I knew after all those yrs w/the other guy I could get pregnant afterall! I told my sister who took it fairly well, and my mom who was upset at 1st but also accepted it--afterall, I was 27 yrs old! Once that was done, most of my fear was gone and there was excitement and anticipation. A friend reccommended a dr, and I started my prenatal care. My 1st visit went ok I thought but my 2nd visit changed my life forever. It was then that the Dr. told me that my baby had no heart beat. I was distraught. He went on to explain that a DNC needed to be done and so forth, but I never took my eyes off that monitor. I was watching my baby praying that his or her heart beat would start and that the dr would say he was wrong. I didn't let him do a DNC on me that day. I thought that if maybe I could go to another dr he or she would tell me something different. I made an appt. to see another dr later that day. She scheduled me a appt. for 4 days off. Unfornately, 2 days after hearing the worst news ever;2 days before the appt I'd setup, I started to bleed. I went to the E/R and was told I'd miscarried and was admitted to have a DNC done that nxt day. I never got over that. The guy and I stayed together and actually got pregnant again a yr later. Unfortunately, I miscarried once again. The guy and I have gone on to get married, and we both desire kids since neither of us have any. We've been trying to get pregnant again in hopes that God will bless us to make it thru this time but here we are over a yr after the 2nd miscarriage and still nothing. However, I plan to continue to try;praying that God will see fit to bless us w/the baby we so desire 1 day.

I have read all the stories and I can say I relate in many ways. I had my son with out anypromblems than 4 miscarrages later we got pregnant with twins. We were so happy but than the worst happened and we lost both at 5 months. I just sit there and daze off thinking what it would be like and often fall into crying spells. I honestly do not think that the Lord is ever going to bless me and I seriously do not know how I am going to deal with that if it comes to that. For those of you wondering about Ovulex, go ahead and try it or try Fertilaid. I have symptoms of pcos and tried both. Fertilaid has herbs and vitamins mixed into one supplement. If you take Ovulex, it is only the herbs, so you could take additional vitamins. Neither product worked for me, but that doesn't mean it won't work for you. We have gone to fertility spec and I have PCOS and yet and quite thin. We have gone through a couple of cycles with IUI and still no preg. I have also used Fertilaid and the ovulation scope. I tried for a few months and then decided to try Ovulex. Neither worked for me and I tried both for several months. You are supposed to use it from day 10-28 of your period, then when you stop using it, supposedly you will get a period. Wow, that is what the doctors keep telling me to do. I know I need to loose the weight and they act like it is the easiest thing in the world to do. My gyne keeps pushing me to take birthcontrol pills and to get gastro bypass surgery. Why would i go through all of that just to get pregnant(not that it would be a bad thing) just to get fat again and ruin the surgery. I told her that i would get it done after i would have a baby. She won't support me at all and tells me that it will be a hard on be because i am overweight. I could handle the backpain she is telling me that would be rough, it would be worth it. I also have to take provera. I did start taking the bc pill again to hopefully get my period regular again and after i get it regular i am going to purposely going to screw up on it and try it that way. I know alot of people who screwed up on the pill and got pregnant. I am on a pill that has a diuritec in it that is suppose to help with weight loss.. Kristie, wow, we have a lot of similar problems. I am 25, my husband is 35. The insurance we had at the beginning of out marriage was terrible and we had to save to go to the doctor. My first doctor told me I was too fat to have a baby. I was lucky to be able to get better insurance and switch to a different doctor. I have irregular periods too and often have to take provera to get them to start. I have a had a very hard time losing weight and my doctor would like me to take metaphormin or glucophage to help me regulate the way my body reacts to sugar and carbs. I know where you are coming from. No one in our families thinks we will ever have a baby. My husband gets depressed too. I have had many low points in my struggle and still get down sometimes. For all of you who are asking what to do to get pregnant, try to do some research. First, if you have not gotten pregnant after trying for at least 1 year, you should see a doctor. They will run several tests to see if you have a physical or hormonal issues. I have been trying to get pregnant for over 7 years and have taken the time to educate myself. After seeing a doctor and discussing possible options, a good idea is to look for information in the library and internet. You can find information about herbs, different causes for infertility and menstrual cycles. I found a lot of information on pills like Ovulex and Fertilaid. Neither of those pills have worked for me, although I know they have worked for other people. I have even found old wives' tales that "swear" taking geritol works or that finding your moon phase will ensure pregnancy. I have tried everything I can think of and will be going back to my doctor in a few months to try something different. Clomid did not work for me, so we will be trying daily injections. I am not rich, but I do have insurance, which helps. It is very hard not to feel like a "regular" woman. Just remember that you are your best resource. Do not depend on other people for information. Take the initiative to learn more and always consult with a doctor before trying something. I wish all of you luck and even though many of us are not pregnant now, be positive that we will be someday. PS Kristie, I do not know you, but your story stood out. Please do not give up.

I have been taking Ovulex for 3 months with no results yet. I bought a 6 month supply, so I am still hopeful that it may work. I also took Fertilaid, which is similar to Ovulex, for 3 months, which also yeilded no results. Hello ladies, Ummmm Rebel you shouldn't get pregnant yet your parents ...yeah I'm sure they can wait. Some of the ladies just need to be patient ovulex took me 2 months and a half to get pregnant and I'm 11 weeks right now. Let me tell you another thing trying to get pregnant is fun, finding out you are pregnant makes you cry happy tears, actually being pregnant is hard and stressful and it scares you becuase once you actually bleed or spot you start panicking. Every little thing becomes major. But yeah its all worth it when the baby is born but the hard part is keeping the baby in yourself for that long. Being pregnnat is kinda funny though becuase you cry for no reason and get funny dreams and weird ones mostly about food lol. Just letting you ladies know if you take ovulex becuase it really did work for me then make you sure you are not drinking any alchocol and are taking prenatal pills. Stop smoking if you can or get help becuase it helps you that much more. But mostly be patient in getting pregnant it will happen I encourage you ladies to put a post it on your mirror that says I will get pregnant and have a healthy baby. When you do get pregnant put I will stay pregnant and have a healthy baby. Thats just a bit advice to the ladies who would love to hear it. Godbless all of you and keep on trying don't give up.

Lets see SOMY . Best advice to you is to not get pregnant wait until you are at least 18 years old okay. Your fallopian tubes may not be fertile enough just yet and thats why you aren't getting pregnant plus I don't think anyone wants you to get pregnant really. My wife and I have had two miscarriages. Both occuring at about 4-7 weeks after conception. It took us a year and a half between each one to get pregnant. Our doctor now has us on clomid and heparin shots. He thinks that the blood is clotting and not allowing enough to the sac. Also my wife has dyplasia and will have LEEP procedure done to clean cervix. We did not know this was occurring. Could this have affected us from carrying once conceived? Also I am looking into Ovulex for her to take, what is the average time for pregnancy to occur for the norm? Any comments would be suggested.

Well lets see, laides who have questions about ovulex, You should stop smoking and drinking and caffine ( not intirley but I got pregnant faster) mostly eat organic foods and dark green vegetables and I drank green tea and that helps as well. Take prenatal pills that you can get at any drugstore with your ovulex but only once a day. Get into shape but when you think you may be pregnant then don't exercise because if you are it may harm the baby. Anyways good luck and godbless. I had been ttc for 6 months and then heard that using KY jelly can act as a spermicide. We stopped using the jelly, switched to ordinary household vegetable oil, used a pillow underneath, I kept still for 30 mins after (and didn't go to the gym the next day) and am pleased to say that thank g-d I'm pregnant. I am a fertility nurse and would like to offer a few suggestions on where to begin when attempting pregnancy: 1) Record Day 1 of menses. Track your periods monthly as this will come handy when determining your most fertile days-usually 10-14 days after start of menses. 2) Purchase an ovulation predictor kit. I recommend Clear Plan Easy test strips, they work just as well as the $200 monitor, but cost much less. 3) Begin testing for ovulation on day 11 of your cycle. For those who have longer periods than 28 days, try testing for a few extra days. 4) Once, and if, a surge (which is a positive indicator of ovulation) is detected, this is your cue to have intercourse with hopes of conception. There are plenty of underlying issues that could cause infertility, which of course should be diagnosed by a physician. Protocol for infertility work-ups include a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) for the female, commonly referred to as the "dye test" in which each fallopian tube is injected with dye by your doctor to check for blockages or spillage, a post-coital test, referred to as the "mucus test" in which the doctor collects swabs of mucus the day after intercourse and examines the contents under a microscope to check the pH and acidity of the vaginal mucus to make sure that the sperm aren't being killed before they have an opportunity to fertilize an egg, doctors commonly order a semen analysis for the male to make sure that the infertility is not directly related to the male instead of the female, and there are several other procedures and tests to research the cause of infertility more extensively as well. The use of fertility drugs is also on the rise, Femara, which is the newer version of Clomid is the major medication used to resolve infertility by promoting egg quality. Femara offers less side effects such as weight gain, moodiness, and the chance of multiple births. Other treatments such as IUI and IVF can be further explained by a physician and have a decent sucess rate of achieving pregnancy for couples with extensive and more complicated fertility issues. trying31, I don't have regular cycles AT ALL. I was on BC and when I stopped I never started on my own. Went to the Dr. He gave me progestorone shot, didn't work. Put me on BC for a couple of months, then Clomid, then BC, then clomid.And once again BC. I got sick of mood swings and taking one thing only to follow up by taking a preventative. Hey everyone! Well I spent the last hour reading all the posts and I thought that I would tell my story. I am 23 and hubby is 27, we have been married for 2.5 years and ttc for 1.5 years. I got off BC and that was a disaster and saw a DR and I was put on clomid in May and it only worked for the first month, I started out with .01 pegestrone and went to 15.9 but the next month only went to 7.0 and developed a small cyst and I was only on 50mg. Never went back to the DR. b/c I moved and had no insurance. Well we decided that I would start my masters but give pregnancy one last shot b4 I started 2 more years of college, I saw the site for ovulex and my DR originally told me that I do not produce the LH hormone to ovulate and ovulex said that it will make me do that. Just got back home in Edmonton. My ovulex hasn't come yet though so I'm like omg what if I have too start all over? because what if it doesn'tg et here for like a week or something? As you know Michelle I didn't conceive the 90 days that I took ovulex but, it was sucessfull because I didn't have a menstrual cycle in 22mths prior to being on depo shot. I went to my obgyn and shee gace me provera to start cycle. I would only have the cycle only on provera. So during my process with the ovulex I say a cycle in 3 wks. I stayed on my period for 14 days(spotting). I almost stop taking the ovulex but I continued after that I have been seeing normal periods. I have been off ovulex for 3mths. Hi Michele, Congrats on the boy~ they are a blast! I have three! I posted here before and we had some really good conversations. Well anyway, af showed up- yippy- she stayed for a long week, now I am checking ovulation times~ my strips are getting darker but not were they are suppose to be. I am still on Vitex, but stopped the geritol, took it for a long while finished the whole bottle and it did not help, and it tasted awful! hey steph, i used to drink lots of soda, but cause of the caffine, i cut back. i switched to gingerale, and juices, while ttc-ing (most of the time, but an ocassional cola or tea). i have heard large amounts of coffee and cola, can have a small affect on fertility, certainly not as much as smoking, but you probobly have to drink alot. just switch to caffeine free colas. i don't notice too much of a flavor difference.

ang, you can do the ovuex with the iui's, but you probobly should lay low on the clomid, if you want to use it. i don't think it hurts you per say, but may affect your odds. no studies have been done on that issue to date. wouldn't want you wasting your money. anyway ladies, i added ovulation and pg test strips to my website! iam adding affordable pre-natal vitamins, and books to purchase in the next few days, so ovulex won't be my only item. i want to expand, though i still will always have the ovulex at the lowest price. it's . iam going to find out, boy or girl, in 2 1/2 weeks, so excited! good luck to all:) -michele

AS FAR AS I HAVE HEARD ALSO, THAT ONCE THE OTHER OVARY IS GONE, THE FUNCTIONING ONE TAKES OVER, SO YOU MAY OVULATE ON THAT SIDE EACH MONTH, AND YOU MAY NOT, LIKE IN ANYONE ELSES' CASE. WE DON'T OVULATE 100% OF THE TIME, LIKE WE ALWAYS THOUGHT. MOST OF THE TIME, BUT NOT 100%! IF YOU'D LIKE TO PUT YOUR MIND AT EASE THAT YOU ARE IN FACT FERTILE, WHICH IS WHAT I BELIEVE, YOU CAN USE OVULATION PREDICTOR KITS, MID CYCLE, TO SEE THAT YOU OVULATE. IF YOU OVULATE YOU CAN BEAR CHILDREN, AND BEING THAT YOU DO HAVE PERIODS, YOU SHOULD DEFINATELY BE OVULATING AT LEAST MOST OF THE TIME. BEST OF LUCK:)

I had a ovary removed two years ago, and was wondering if anyone else had this procedure done, and was able to conceive. I have not been able to conceive. I have never been more disappointed in my life then when I have regular menstrual cycles in all my life. At first I was happy to see my period, now I am not. Is there anyone here that can help me and say they were able to get pregnant after the removal of one ovary. Thanks for all input

hi tam. i had shortened cycles with ovulex. mine were 35 days, and then went to 28-29 days. so i cant help you there i hope you have luck with whatever you do next

wow jasmine! 8 attempts at ivf! that's an awful lot to go through, you are some strong lady! would you mind my asking your age? sounds like the infertility must have been going on for years now, with all of those treatments, were any partially successful? any m/c or chemical preg? what have doctors told you about your tubes, do you need surgery, or is there still enough leeway for the little swimmers to get through? sorry to be personal, we like to welcome you to the board, it's just it's good to understand the exact situation so we can best support you and help you out! iam sure it will happen 4 u, you obviously possess faith in God, and i know, it's hard to keep it up, when it seems noone is listening to your prayers, but he is, so don't stop. he won't let you down! lots and lots of baby dust to you, and w/b anytime at all! we are all a nice bunch who would love to support you! ps- your not alone on this board!!!
