Thanks Pupil Tree teachers My 3 year old son was extremely reticent till he went to pre school. But now he has become more friendly and does not cling to me all the time. He loves to repeat all the stuff he has learnt at school. Actually he asks to go to school even on weekends!

I want to know that is it necessary to send my baby to playschool. She is 2.5 year old. She has toilet sense. Whenever i try to make her learn rhyms and alphabets she takes interest and try to learn. So i feel it is not necessary to send her any school.i wish iwill be right.

I think 2 is not the right age to send kids to playschool, they are still very young,i know very good schools like M's P which promise that they really work hard in shaping your kid, but it doesnt sound very promising. Why? the reason it 1. Envoinmental factors *The schools have cetralized a/c which parents find very attractive, but do we really realize that A/c is the most harmful for kids, there is a decrease in the oxygen in the envoirnment, do you think our kids can respond to this change.NO *though disposable are being provided for kids to have food and drinks. but do you think they know that whether they should share glasees and food or share drinks, no they dont, and everytime the staff is also not arond that they will watch them, * It looks attractive that they will get to do different activities but sometimes they are left on there own.

I am doing my Doctoral research on preschool curriculum.Given my expertise I don't think we need to send tiny toddlers before 3 years of age. Don't push yuor child too hard in these inital years.

Good article. I have been running a playschool myself for the last 8 years. A notable change over the years is in the attitude of parents. No doubt they have to be actively involved in their child ,but the involvement has surpassed to levels of interference and over-protection. As a teacher, I find that a child adjusts far better and faster to a playschool, if the parents play a supportive role in tune with the teachers, rather than a protective role.

I had put my daughter into pre-school at 2 years of age much against my own wishes put more so as i realised she needed much more exposure and activity than i could provide her at home by myself. she was eager to go out and play with her friends more and i realised that, regular evening play with friends, visit to the garden and some basic stuff i taught her at home got routine and boring for her. Within the first week of schooling itself, she picked up and mimicked numberous things that the teacher taught at the school. She is very eager to go to school as well. However, on the flip side, i have noticed that is is falling ill more often than previously. May be the changes in climate or may be infections from other kids, it does worry me and at times i wonder if i was wrong.
