hello everybody!!! i stammer mostly on the phone which is really fustrating,sometimes when i have to ask something i fear i will stammer, my stammer does not really show most of time , only when i'm on phone and talking to some one authortitaive , then i stammer.I told some of friends , there like you dont and its all with confidence and nerves.i do agree to some extent that it is realted to confidence and nerves.My advise to all of you would to pause n breathe abdomially for second, then say ur word, or maybe to strectch the word which u think u will stammer on.By they way i have heard that yoga really helps stammering so, give yoga a go and try doing AAAAAAAAAAAA 10 times a day which venki has advised u guys.Just be confident and dont think too much about stammering, that wat my friends advise me, which is true but i kno its hard.Just breathe and then say the word.:)

Let me thank you for the article. The " neurological disorder" you have mentioned - Will it occur due to any "accident" like say a fall during childhood. My sister's son had a fallfrom the swing to a tiled floor. He is a brilliant and intelligent child ( 2years old ) has a good vocabulary of 200 words and could form logical sentences comprising of 3-4 words. He could identify and name the flags of the nations ( 30 countries ). He started stuttering all of a sudden. He could recite the numbers in english, tamil , hindi & russian too...The only thing we could observe is the sudden change in environment. He is brought up in his grand parents home.
