Most important is to start with a gifts checklist from which people can choose items according to budget If you are living outside of India the best thing is to say no gifts or send to a charity or no gift articles(meaning they give cash). What will one do with with more tha one ironbox/cooler/ whatever than recycle at another wedding WASTEful. Also, if u live outside of India buy only one wedding trousseu and the rest of the occasions wear choos eelegant usable wear.Use the money to buy sensible ,usable wear for ur country IF the prevalence of giving utensils, mitthai etc exist, time to stop by amicably talking to other party This HUGE fund scan coem in handy when the newlyweds set up their homes .Dont have those return gifts, which again get recycled.Sensibly talk to family members and stop buying dresses and gifts for them However much time u spend and whatever u buy NOT all are going to be happy. There will be ill statemnets Avoid by simply stopping all this .Give an "x" amt to charity or simply use that money for the children themselves Why gift and the listen to sore comments All these formalities came in between, recent trends NOT ANY AGE OLD CUSTOM this is a recent "who shines better"

Hie ! I have been living in Singapore for the past 20 years and got married last december . Let me tell you that by the end of all the hulaloo I was happy yet DEAD TIRED . Our traditional wedding was in Karela India whre both me and my hubby traditionally hail from . However I grew up in Pune and my hubby in Bnglore . So in the end we had 1 wedding and 3 receptions - one in banglore , one in pune and needless to say one In Singapore with our friends and work associates here . Money was not an issue baz both my parents , and inlaws and me hubby contributed . But we had a madly running schedule , followed by a honeymoon (that helped us relx) . I wish this article knocks some sense onto the guest#s head as well . It is meant to be a happy occasion but it turns out MEGA STRESSFUL .

hi everyone. i am a British Indian and plan to marry my fiance in Mumbai in October 2006. He is from Mumbai so we have chosen to wed there and i will be taking my immediate family from the UK to Mumbai for the occasion (their first time to the buzzing city! i have been twice before). Could anyone let me know the rough costs for the following: a church ceremony followed by a small reception function for about 150 people with dinner, waiters, decorations etc. This includes a menu with meat and alcohol. What are the costs of having it in a 4/5 star hotel and the costs of doing it in a function hall? Can you also advise on the costs of a DJ, photographer and videoman? Advice, tips, and comments appreciated G :)
