Q: Hello, Is there any other way to get rid of the dark colour of underarms except doing regular waxing? Or if doing regular waxing, How long will it take to regrain the dark colour to its natural colour? I realy need help please reply, thanks
A: It is best if you wax your underarms regularly. Underarms generally look dark due to thick hair under the skin, caused by shaving. Waxing removes hair from the root, so there is no hair under the skin, and the underarms look clean. Also, regular waxing reduces hair growth over a period of time. How long it takes differs from person to person. Often, as soon as you wax for the first time after shaving for a long time, your underarms look much cleaner and lighter. This is because the hair is a lot thicker, so the wax gets a good grip and pulls it all out. There are chances your armpits may bleed very slightly, so don't get unduly worried if this happens.
Q: I used a strong anti-prespirant to stop sweating and now my underarms are completely dark. I tried some bleaching cream but it doesn't seem to be working. What can I do? I want to wear sleeveless.
A: Give it time. Also, if you shave your underarms, stop, and start waxing them. Avoid using hair removal cream on your armpits. You could try gently scrubbing your underarms with a pumice stone to get rid of dead skin.
Q: My armpits started to get black about a month ago and I started to clean them better so they have inproved but I still have pimples how could I get rid of them? I also want to start waxing will it make them worse, will anything bad happen if I wax my armpits?
A: Some people cannot wax certain areas of their body because they get a rash, so I cannot say for certainty that nothing will happen if you wax your underarms. However, I can say that numerous women wax their underarms and the procedure is completely safe for them. Waxing underarms is painful, and underarms may bleed slightly if you wax after you have been shaving them, or if you have pimples. But after you have waxed regularly a few times, waxing underarms gets more tolerable.
Q: Hi! my underarms are very dark. I wax underarm. What I do to normal them?

Q: I have a white fair skin. But my inner thighs(bikini area) and under arms have dark colors. What can i do to make it white. Hope to hear from you. thank you!
A: Apply lemon juice. Don't wear polyester clothing near those areas. Wash regularly, make sure these areas are dry by applying powder. Try Shower to Shower. Wax these areas regularly. If your inner thighs rub together this also causes it to go dark, so you may need to lose weight on your thighs.
Q: My underarm skin has turned black due to shaving. Is it safe to bleach underarms using Fem bleach? Thanks, Lalitha
A: Yes, bleaching underarms is safe.

Q: I am 28year Female and married. I have wheatish complexion with oily skin on face. I shave my underarms whenever I want to wear sleeveless. But my underarm skin is very dark and now even if I try to wax my underarms, it is very painful and the hairs won't come out. I don't wear anything synethetic as it is very hot in Chennai. Please help
A: Your underarms are dark due to shaving. Wait till the hair grows more before waxing. If hair is a little longer, it will come out with waxing. Also, stop shaving and just keep waxing regularly.
If you don't want to start waxing, try scrubbing your underarms well with a pumice stone every day, while taking a shower, after applying soap. This should help reduce the darkness to an extent. Try this for a month and see if it works. Also, if you shave, shave on a daily basis so your underarms look cleaner.
Q: I have noticed that my underarm has become dark. i have not started doing waxing yet. i have been to the doctors but they are saying i have no skin disease. how can i remove that darkness?
A: Scrub your underarms daily with a pumice stone. Do you use any method of hair removal on your underarms? If not, you should start waxing. Often, shaving causes underarms to appear dark.
Q: why does shaving cause the darkening of underarms?
A: Shaving causes hair to grow back thicker and darker, and this dark hair is often visible under transparent, light skin - which is what makes the skin look darker. Also, waxing removes dead skin, while shaving does not do the same. If you shave underarms regularly, you may want to scrub your underarm area with a pumice stone on a daily basis. This should help combat darkness to an extent.

Q: I like to keep me armpits free of hair,so i shave and occassionally wax.lately i have developed boils which resulted in acne in my armpits and my skin has turned dark.please give me quick solution that can make my underarm look clear and fair.i often wear sleeveless dresses and now it has been curbed.i look around and i find women around me always shaving yet i dont see stubble or darkness.howcome?pls help
A: Results differ from person to person. You may have thicker or darker hair than them, or more sensitive skin. Stop shaving, and start waxing your underarms. Try and stick to the same person for waxing, and make sure she pulls the hair in one direction. The darkness is probably caused by shaving, while the boils could be caused by improper waxing. Also, if you wax regularly the hair growth will lessen and then the pimples will stop forming.
