I shaved it thinking it would go away OH I WAS SO effing wrong :( in the end i told me mum she told me to use bleeching but i found bleeching caused the pores to open so i moved on to waxing . waxing is soo fab it leaves you with a smooth kissable upper lip and if you have wide pores they sort of go away after a while . Hey everyone. Im 15. And iv been through everything and i still am. I get so self concious. I get hair EVERYWHERE. And i can tell you that you should NEVER shave. Iv waxed my lips a few times and it comes back less noticable That goes for eyebrows too. I did shave it my lip a few times. And its something i regret. To help. I recommend that u should bleach it if u have fair skin. Let it grow a bit then wax it all off. It worked for me. I dont shave my legs anymore either. They look like 'a plucked chicken' as my mum put it. I use an eppilator. Its stings a bit. But it works great. This site has given me confidence that im not the only person of my age experiencing this. Iv have started to learn u have to try and be comfy in your body, walk out with confidence and NEVER let anyone put you down. I do how ever would be gratful for some advice on belly hair. Mine is really bad and i dont know what to do. Im too embarrased to go and see someone. id preferr to do it myself. Any tips?

Please,,, All the girls with this problem: Ask your mother or yourself to look in here in the internet a free video that explain how to do Threading to remove unwanted hair from the face. . I just tried with my daughter. It is sooo easy. You only need a thead of cotton for this. It doesn't irritate the skin. Don't apply anything after. The day you do this, don't put soap, or acne medicine so the skin don't get irritated. I read somewhere that some people don't see hair back until 4-5 weeks. Today is the third day for my daugher and still I don't see any hair growing back. I just want to help you all little girls up there that may do something harsh to your skin. I also have excess facial hair. The only permanent way to remove it is by electroysis as laser treatment does not work on all skin types. Until I am able to pay for treatments, I use Andrea Gentle Cream Face Bleach, I string the hair above my upper lip (does not grow back thick), use a mini trimmer for the side-burn area, and pluck any remaining hairs on chin. Waxing may cause hair to grow rapidly where it was not visible before as it pulls out even the fine hairs. Shaving it will make it grow thick so if you have not started, don't do it! As for other area's of the body (tummy, arms, etc) you may want to try Nair (or other) cream hair remover. Do a patch test to ensure that you are not allergic. It takes less than 10 minutes, it's cheap, it lasts a few days. I don't recommend using it on the face as the skin may be more sensitive. I hope this helps someone! Good luck.

Okay, well I've had this problem for a few years and this is what I do: Every couple of days or so I use a hair lightener, followed by a facial hair remover, then I pluck any that are visible, takes about 20 minutes and it works for me! Waxing's safe as far as I know, but I definitely would NOT reccomend shaving. For some people waxing just works better, like for example it leaves a few bare patches, but it DOES NOT make hair come back thicker. Bear in mind you'll have to keep up with it and let the hair grow in a certain amount before it can be waxed again. One day I so want laser hair removal! They say electrolysis works best for those with pale skin and dark hairs. No threading does not cause hair to thicken if done every 15 days you should be perfectly fine! I'm one of those unlucky people who got hair everywhere! Hope this helped and as you've all probably figured out by now you're not alone in the excess hair thing!

i had really dark and long upper lip hair before. i got mine waxed in the salon and believe me, it grows back normal and very light! girls, im your moms dont allow you to go bleach, pluck, or wax, just go by yourself! tell her that you're going out with your friends to the mall or something then go to the salon on your own. i am a trained Beuty therapist and use hair removal methods everyday. bleaching can turn out an orange colour on some people, waxing is effective as it completely removes the root therefore the hair will grow back like a new one- baby soft. shaving makes the hairs thicken and grow darker in colour it grows back stubbly. threading is not very effective at all it often only snaps the hairs instead of completely removing the root. warm wax, cream wax and roller wax are all good methods. but best of all would be hot wax- it is applied with a spactula and left to harden for about twenty seconds it is the peeled slightly at one end and pulled of quickly bringing the hairs with it. it is good for stubbon and thick hairs. electrolysis involves a needle being inserted into the follicle of your hair individually sending an electric shock through the root, killing it off however results dont last forever and it can makes the pores look larger in size. it is painless however and not overly expensive. if you want my honest opinion as a young girl myself (17 nearly 18) you need to first be sure you are commited enough to be able to keep having the treatment done every 3-6 weeks depending of how fast your hairgrowth is. secondly dont EVER shave facial hair it will come back like a mans stubble it will look and feel awful, thirdly if you have dark skin (asian, african, black etc) bleaching will not work as the bleach makes the hairs turn blonde which will obviously show the hairs more. fourthly dont ver do anything to yourself to change the way you look for ANYBODY else apart from yourself, fifthly, waxing will be best for upperlip as it grows back naturally and not stubbly- i have had this done myself to test before i do clients and my chin too. it is quick, cheap and not really painful just a little tingle and results are immediate. hope this helps xx

I would suggest to anyone on this board to get the laser surgery!!! I have had three treatments and the hair is no longer there. Laser works as stated by someone else by destroying the hair follicals - meaning they will no longer grow hair. About 80% of your hair follicals are growing at one time.
